Restaurant Week 2025, day 1!
First stop - Sundance Grill and Bar, 7:30 in the morning on a Friday? Hell yes!
Chef Coach made an awesome salad with strawberriws and raspberry vinaigrette, and an amazing chicken and rice stuffed bell pepper dish. I'm not a culinary expert, so I couldn't tell you it was a flame-roasted bell pepper with marinated grilled chicken, tomato, cilantro-lime rice, and roasted red pepper crema...but I can tell you it was delicious and totally worth it!
I didn't think to get a before picture, but I'm attaching the leftovers. The peppers were stuffed, and so are we!

One star. Walked into Sundance Grill excited for my daughter’s enchiladas-nothing fancy, just sixteen bucks on the menu. But nope, Manager Michael hits me with a two-dollar to-go fee the second I say we’re taking it home. I explained we’re right upstairs, could literally sit for two minutes while it’s made, then box it up and go. Logical, right? He wouldn’t budge. Flat-out said no way, pay eighteen or nothing. My ten-year-old Adriana was starving, eyes welling up when he killed the deal-no food, no mercy. Kid broke down crying right there. What kind of place punishes a hungry child over pocket change? Michael’s heartless, zero customer care. Won’t go back, and neither should you.
My response addresses the inaccuracies in the management’s reply to their review of the restaurant.
I am writing to address an issue I encountered with your unprofessional management team and subsequent interactions with your HR department. Initially, I explained that I live in the building and only needed to sit down briefly before taking the items upstairs to my place. This request would not have incurred any additional cost to your company. However, the manager refused to accommodate me, which I found unreasonable. Furthermore, the response from your HR representative to my review was deeply disappointing. It contained inaccuracies and failed to address the situation fairly. This experience was particularly upsetting as it caused my 10-year-old daughter to cry. I urge you to review this matter and provide a more considerate and truthful resolution. Great place to catch up breakfast, with several unique breakfast options. I had the chorizo and bacon tacos that were amazing. The server was excellent and friendly and had great menu knowledge. Nice atmosphere as well, excellent place to eat.

This is an awesome tex mex spot for breakfast and if you are a fan of savory breakfast I highly recommend checking them out. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I got the avocado toast and my fiancé got the chorizo biscuits and gravy. Both were excellent and I plan to return next time we are in Grand Rapids. Their cinnamon roll is VERY large and we ended up eating it for 2 days of breakfast afterwards, so be warned! Highly recommended.

15 mins after being seated we never had a server to come take our drinks nor food order. After a few more minutes of waiting, a server finally showed up to take our order and drinks. 15 mins later, still no drinks or food and server was MIA at this point. Flagged down another server to see if she can find out where our food and drinks are. With an attitude, she asked if we even checked with a host before sitting down. The entire experience was unprofessional and snooty. First and last time there indefinitely.
