Got the Astro Sandwich and was a very weird mushy flavorless mess. Order the strawberry mango tea iced and it came with no ice... tasted like lukewarm water. SO CONFUSED about how this place stays busy.

Great atmosphere, quick service, and quality food/coffee. Will be back! The bread they use on these sandwiches is super soft and delicious.

Ordered the breakfast sandwich with avocado, mayo, and egg with a side of potatoes. The bread, avocado and potatoes were very tasty. However the egg is not good at all. It is a weird texture because it seems to be a fake egg which is not what is advertised. It threw off the texture and taste of the rest of the sandwich which is disappointing because everything else was very good including the coffee. Would visit again but not for breakfast food.

It had been quite awhile since my last visit to That Early Bird but I met a friend there recently and got some work done. The space is pretty large with plenty of seating for gatherings and remote work. In warmer months their covered patio is really nice. Parking is not super plentiful in this area during peak times, but I was able to get metered street parking nearby. I ordered an oat milk latte and the birddog breakfast sandwich (smoked ham, omelet square, cheddar, bacon jam, garlic mayonnaise served on housemate milk bread bun) with a side of potatoes. They gave me a number and brought my food out to my table when it was ready. The sandwich is made with quality ingredients, but I didn't love the sweetness of the bacon jam - I'd probably ask for them to leave that off next time if possible. The egg was really nicely cooked and not rubbery. I added some hot sauce which helped balance the sweetness. The potatoes were chunky and crispy on the outside. I really did enjoy this meal and wanted to try a bunch of their other menu options, like smoked salmon toast, cheddar grits, and breakfast burritos. There is a little section of toys and children's books, so it's definitely kid-friendly. The bench seating was not the most comfortable but I was able to get quite a bit of work done and catch up with my friend. I'll be back!

That Early Bird is the ‘Cheers’ of Eastown—everyone is a neighbor. This is a place where you’ll see the same nice old man in the same wool cap stopping in every day, and the same group of parents strolling by for a takeout latte, and people’s dogs nosing each other out on the patio. Yes, their food and coffee are excellent. (What you might not know is that the owners also own Quarantinos and Little Bird—two of the best restaurants in West Michigan.) But the reason I love Early Bird the most is how much they care about this community. They even host game nights where teens and senior citizens team up together. When we bought our house, we made the decision sitting at a table at Early Bird. This is just that kind of place.

We had lunch there! The food is delicious and they serve nice vegetarian options. The menu is not huge though. The place is cozy and exudes a congenial atmosphere.

would be five, but they got rid of the two best things on the menu - the breakfast nachos and the tacos :(

I like the Early Bird's eclectic menu. Love their coffee drinks and infused lemonades. Some food items are very unique and tasty and several items might be a bit too avante garde for my taste. The salmon lox open faced sandwich was 4/5 for me. The blend of flavors was interesting, but became tiresome toward the end of the sandwich. I like that I could purchase items for my children like the mini oranges, applesauce and lemonades. They have a cute indoor/ outdoor seated area with some toys for kids and families to play with. Happy this place is in Eastown. Definitely adds to the diverse flavor of the community.

Fantastic decaf options and a breakfast burrito that balances 'hipster' flavors with that of a good diner. Potatos were crisp flavorful and perfectly cooked. Chorizo added spice and fat which was balanced out lovely by the kale and beans.Great place to work remote with lots of seating options and inoffensive music that can be pretty well smothered with headphones if you need to really focus.

This is a wonderful place. My daughters and I are regulars here. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. The owner is amazing and takes the time to get to know her customers. The best part to me though is how welcoming the space is for kids. They have toys and a little area where kids can sit with the toys and play. They treat kids really well here and never look at them as a burden. The food and drinks are also pretty good.
