The venue is absolutely gorgeous, the staff are friendly and helpful, the planning process was made easy. The experience from start to finish was beautiful. I would highly recommend The Ballroom at McKay for any event- especially wedding ceremonies and receptions.

This venue is simply stunning, if you are wanting a high end glamorous venue this is the site. Located in the heart of Grand Rapids Michigan having one of a kind historical architecture inside and out this gem is offers exceptional opportunities to capture your vision and make a dream your reality. With plenty of options available for accommodations and dining nearby in this walkable city. Also, I cannot forget mention the day of staffs impeccable eye for detail and professionalism goes above and beyond. I highly recommend this venue, epic memories have been made. Thank you

Just had our wedding here and everything was beyond perfect. The ballroom is gorgeous and we were getting compliments all night! The staff is super friendly and helpful with everything. The location is super convenient with hotels and everything nearby.

I cannot say enough good things about the Ballroom! From start to finish, everything was perfection and made so easy by the venue’s incredible staff. Madison was so on top of things and communication was always prompt and comprehensive. Our wedding was beyond beautiful and everything went perfectly. I would choose the Ballroom at Mckay 100x over again for my wedding and any couple looking for the perfect downtown GR wedding venue that is reasonably priced should absolutely consider booking!

2025 Wedding: My wife and I have a shared opinion that the Ballroom at McKay went above and beyond to make our day special. No corners were cut, we got more value than what we paid for (staff taking our experience personally, the company not nickel and dime-ing us), and the venue was gorgeous start to finish.

Highlight: bar crew went above and beyond to make us comfortable and were personable as well. Professional to the nine’s, but full of joy for us and our guests.

The wedding industry is largely over inflated and honestly glutenous, but as someone who is overly critical I would vouch for RYE Events for others to trust them with your important day. They are a diamond in the rough.

Quincy, Andrea, and the team did everything to make sure we had the best day ever!! I seriously could not even imagine planning all this without the Day-of-Coordinator (sooo worth it!!). The team worked on a schedule with us well in advance so we could just sit back and enjoy our special day without sweating the small details. If I could get married here again, I would!!!

My daughter's wedding reception was held here and it was a fabulous time! The venue is awesome! We Gen X'rs remember it when it was Michigan National Bank, and had the weather ball attached to it.
