Tia Juana

They claim to be open until 9pm. However, I stopped in at 8:30pm and they had everything cleaned up so couldn’t serve me! I would imagine that the owner considers the restaurant to be open until 9pm THEN clean up. Otherwise, say you close at 8pm on your website.

Do your self a favor and check this place out. The food is delicious, the prices are great, and the staff is amazing. Easy to get to and plenty of parking.

Excellent Mexican food, ample serving size, with very reasonable prices. Small but clean and bright dining area. Friendly staff.

An amazing experience every time, the San Diego burrito with chicken is amazing, the chicken, rice and salsa in it are delicious. The aguas frescas are refreshing. The birria tacos are rich with flavor. Service is perfect, Luis is an amazing restaurant owner, team is very friendly. Thank you!

This little restaurant is delightful! It’s super casual with clearly marked vegan options. We got vegan tacos, a vegan burrito, salsa, chips, and guacamole. I’ve been living in the area for 6 months and this is my favorite Mexican food option to date. Updated from previous review on 2025-02-20

Wow, they have great tacos especially vegan tacos with their spicy sauce is straight from the heaven.

My husband and I go here at least two times a week! The food is amazing and authentic. I’ve had the fish taco, chicken taco, asada taco, San Diego burrito, and have loved everything I’ve tried!

My husband and I took our 7 year old grandson to Tia Juana restaurant - he wanted Mexican food. We looked up reviews in the Grand Rapids area and decided on Tia Juana. It's a diner style restaurant where you order at the counter. You can sit at a table or at the raised counter with swivel stools where you can watch some of the food prep. The owner took our order and served us. He has a child around our grandson's age. He talked with all of us for a bit about our upcoming Christmas while we ate. Small world - he had worked in the Benton Harbor - St. Joseph area where we came up from. The food was excellent and used all fresh ingredients. Service was timely and friendly. He answered our questions about certain foods before we ordered. The facility was spotless and brightly colored. Windows surround the entire restaurant. Although we weren't necessarily looking for a diner style restaurant, we found a jewel of a diner. We'll definitely be going back! The grandson said so!

Kid-friendliness: It's fun for kids especially sitting at the counter. Kids are treated very well and included in conversations.
