Best breakfast in west michigan!

Came here because I wanted to see what the fuss is about! The door was packed with people waiting to get in. Honestly I feel bad saying that I wasn't impressed with my experience here. We waited for a very long time to get a table. The food and coffee was mediocre at best. My boyfriend got to the bottom of his coffee to find trash stuck to the bottom. We mentioned it to our server who was kind enough to reimburse his meal and then got him a clean fresh cup of coffee to drink and apologized to us. I still felt like it was worth mentioning since that grossed us out enough to not really want to eat the rest of our food or get a to-go box for home. This place could really use a makeover and maybe a better dishwasher. I could see why people would come here if the food was cheap but the prices were not a good reflection of what we received unfortunately. I'm sorry to be so negative in a review but I don't plan on coming back here based off this experience.

The food was disgusting. I had an omelet that tasted like it had been stored in the refrigerator for days. The side of fruit consisted of one grape, one blueberry, an orange slice that looked like it had been squeezed, but there was an ample amount of cantaloupe and honey dew. The blueberry muffin was tasteless. The custom blend coffee that I paid extra for was weak and tasteless. The server was apparently new, and was unable to make any recommendations. The facility reminded me of an old country place. I was truly disappointed!!!

I don't get it...This place is supposed to be a West Side institution, and we were excited to try it but ended up massively disappointed. We came for breakfast and both had skillets. The food was so bland and completely unseasoned--I added hot sauce, ketchup, pepper, and even salt (when have you ever needed to add salt to diner food??) just to have any flavor. Muffin tasted like something you'd grab in a plastic bag at the gas station. Coffee was the worst--$3.25 for some hot water. When all was said and done, we walked away having spent $40 to sit cramped next to the busing station. The only good thing was that our servers were friendly and efficient despite being obviously slammed--again, I don't know why because this place is absolutely not worth it.

Great food at a decent price but the service can be a tad inconsistent. Usually good to great service but I've noticed that things fall through the cracks when they get slammed. Nevertheless, Westsider is still one of my favorite breakfast spots in Grand Rapids. Plenty of vegetarian options which is always a plus!

Arrived at 11, was excited because there was only a 10-15 minute wait. Had 4 of us, and watched as table after table was sat before us. Staff said we'd be next, but we kept getting passed over. After 40-45 minutes, we decided to go somewhere else, after we were once again skipped over. All it would've taken would've been some communication between the staff.

This place knocked our socks off!The food was spectacular, service was very good, and prices were much lower than we expected for food this good.Waffles are good, regular breakfast staples are excellent, and they even have huevos rancheros with pork (one of my absolute favorite breakfast foods). Portions are generous, food is fresh and delicious.I tried both their regular coffee and also the premium stuff. Their regular coffee is just fine, but I'll tell ya what: the premium one is worth the upcharge. First-rate.We'll be telling ALL of our friends about this restaurant, and after just one visit I'm not sure we'll bother with any other breakfast restaurants around here anymore!(I knocked one star off because the lighting in there badly needs maintenance - lots of yellowed/flickering/burned-out bulbs. Also the chipped coffee cups could stand to be replaced.)

My phone just added a “significant location.” I don’t know how many visits it takes to earn this designation, but I’m not surprised. This has been one of my favorite restaurants for many years.

This place never disappoints. The portions are very large. The pickle soup is the best around town. I've eaten here many times and never walked away disappointed or hungry. I wish them many years of success. One of the few places to get some authentic Polish food. With that said, most of the food is American as not to discourage people that this is the majority of the menu.
