I'm not sure if it's my age showing or maybe my expectations are too high but fast food isn't what it used to be. First off, it's not fast - which the name is very much misleading... But the real issue isn't that. We used to always joke that it might not be good but it's fast and cheap. Well, these days, when a large fry by itself is $4.24 with tax and it takes 10 minutes to receive, I feel that fast food has failed on every point. It's slow....

Went to the drive thru around 8pm on a Thursday and got a medium fry. I got my order super quick and it was the best batch of McDonald's fries I've ever had. They were warm, salty, and the perfect balance of textures (crunch on the outside, but soft on the inside).

After my visit to Bucktown, I traditionally visit the Golden Arches. The service was less than desired. If you aren't happy, don't take it out on the customer. A simple smile goes a long way.
The McDouble was cold, the coke was almost 3/4 ice and the fries were tossed in the trash receptacle... The more $ I invest in the arches, the more dissatisfied I become... I apologize for the less than standard review, but standards need to be adjusted.
