This review is in no way a reflection of the restaurant or staff, we have always enjoyed the food and service. The last few times that my wife and I visited, last visit for dinner was 1-8-25, we had to listen to some of the most racist, vile people. We truly enjoy the food and drinks but, this kind of atmosphere has made us realize that this is no longer a place for us to dine, ever!

Located in Interlochen, MI, this Tavern is very busy! The overflow tables are located on the deck that surrounds the building. It is wrapped in a heavy tent and kept warm with propane towers. It felt warm, and provideds a nice ambient light. The food was great, portions were great and service was friendly. The blackened tacos were delicious, just the right combination of seasoning and the Sirloin Steak was delicious! They also serve special holiday drinks, that added a perfect touch to the evening.

We had a great server. The food came quickly and the hot food was hot. We had fish and chips and enjoyed the meal. My husband replaced the fries with mashed potatoes and gravy and thought they were great.

Overall, really great place for more casual/American dining experience. It’s generally very busy, and there is not a lot of waiting room, so that is a bit of a downside. If you have to wait for a table, you feel very much in the way and awkward. But, the prices are fair and the portions are very generous (the nachos are huge!!). Our waitress was great, and everybody’s spirits seemed high despite the Saturday lunch rush.
Very good, great staff, good food. Six of us....steaks order were great, Nacho's excellent, great fish tacos and cobb salad. Seated quickly on a Saturday evening. Place is so much bigger than it looks 😁

I had been here a few times a couple years ago before the renovation and the service and food was not good. We decided to give it a shot tonight and we were pleasantly surprised! The dining room was beautiful as well as the outdoor seating. Server was very sweet. We got wings and the spinach dip which were both delicious. We will definitely have to come back

This place was absolutely delicious. A few friends and myself went in and had some afternoon drinks and lunch. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. The server we had seemed a little green. I could tell by her nervousness, but she knocked it out of the park. She kept our drinks full the entire time and was quick to clean up the empty plates. We will definitely be back!

11/23/25 Unfortunately, we didn’t have a great time at Oaky’s. My father had ordered their Lobster Chowder and it was very salty, so he did not finish it and sent it back. We came at lunch and they were not busy as they usually are. For the entree, I had ordered the 16oz Steak with the mashed potatoes and gravy. I had ordered the steak Medium Rare, came out Raw. Sent it back 2 times and at the second time it had came at the same time I was trying the mashed potatoes and gravy. The mashed potatoes were literally inedible. They honestly tasted like metal and just off. I never ask a waitress do this but I asked our waitress to try it and she agreed that they were awful. The gravy was very salty as well. The waitress was fantastic and was very apologetic. Our fantastic waitress was able to get the Lobster Chowder and the Steak and Mashed Potatoes and gravy off of our bill. I tried looking at the menu to see if I wanted anything else. But I decided not to order again as because my appetite was gone from how my food had tasted. I do not remember our waitresses name but she was really fantastic. No one else i.e the manager or the cook had came out to apologize for the food. Just our waitress. We will not be going back to Oaky’s Tavern. And as locals it sucks because we want to support our local business, rather than big brand places in TC.
