This China Chef on Mack Avenue in the block adjacent to Grosse Pointe Woods City Offices and the Police Department has the most consistently delicious shrimp fried rice I have ever eaten. Hot and flavorful and moist AND none of those prematurely harvested “baby shrimp”!! These folks serve you REAL SHRIMP fried rice!! like the pros.
This place has been open for over 20 years and it shows; they’re so nice! The quantity for the cost is amazing, though the reason it lost a star are the flavors, it needs more, but I get that too much spicy/sauce could be more difficult to tone down. (Flavor hack: order egg drop soup, add some soy sauce, and pour some over your dish *chefs kiss* )
I have been to almost all the Chinese restaurants in the area and they have the best beef lo mein. It comes loaded with a variety of veggies as well. I go there once a week for carry out. Not to fond of the sweet in sour chicken. I think it should come with bean sprouts and maybe broccoli with the brown rice. The sauce seems a little bland as well.
