Captain Jay's Fish & Chicken

Yesterday was my first time going to Captain Jay’s in Hamtramck. I used to think was it was haram but they told me everything was halal. So I tried it, and it was delicious. Good for the price and good customer service. I would come back for sure.

So this evening was my third time at Captain Jay's in Hamtramck on Jos Campau the first time I ordered legs,thighs and wings the second time I ordered wings the chicken was delicious and perfectly fried today was different.....there was two younger men cooking may have been in their late teens early twenties I ordered two pieces of whiting which was fried so long you would think your were eating cracklings and the chicken was also fried too long it was dry and salty I'm very irritated I was just getting off work and didn't feel like cooking to the manager your employees may need more training

Food fresh but staff is the worst , and the refund policy needs adjusting. I PAID for shrimp and only AFTERWARDS did they inform me they don’t have cocktail sauce . I’m pregnant and can’t eat the shrimp without sauce and they said no refund . They lost a loyal customer today. I do not recommend this location any longer

It was a lady yelling pointing fingers and record the cashier for nothing cause she wanted extra fries , all the cashier told her was she have to pay for some more fries lady refused cause she waited extra 5 mins I just paid it for the cashier she was so nice and wasn’t rude to the lady even tho she keep yelling .. Catara is amazing cashier & Alphonzo is a good cooker my food was amazing and delicious!! They need some a raises

Food was fresh and delicious! I ordered the fish and wings combo perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. I’ll be coming back for sure. Highly recommend Captain Jay’s.

Food was horrible — perch was cooked too long and was all breading the JUMBO shrimp weren’t very jumbo to say the least. No sauce cups come with the food so if you get shrimp or fish you have to order 50¢ cups of cocktail and tarter that aren’t even filled a quarter of the way. The cashier was the best thing they had going for them. The cook was on his cellphone while cooking like he had somewhere better to be. Never again will I visit.

The skinny girl that works here is always rude to everyone. She acts like it’s the end of the world to take an order. If you don’t want to work at captains jays just get a better job or something. I won’t be bringing buisness here anymore

Terrible experience. Knock off JJs. Order a 2 PC Whiting which was spoiled and extremely overcooked. I moved on to the wings and catfish. They didn't put any seasoning on it but it looked OK. Long story short. Woke up with the BGs. Never again

This was the worst experience I’ve had with Captain Jays. I called ahead of time for a very large order. I was quoted a price of $168. When I got to the store I was charged $230. I was told that there was a mistake by a new worker. That’s completely unreasonable! Even after speaking to a manager I was told that I had to pay. To simply say that he made a mistake is nuts. I have used this location many times but I will NEVER ever be back here.
