A Fantastic Start to the New Year!
What a wonderful way to kick off the new year with a great event! It was my first time trying Polish cuisine, and I loved every bite. Every dish was made from scratch and full of authentic flavors — truly a treat.
The restaurant itself is beautiful — the long mural, the decorations, everything has a charming, native touch that makes the space feel special. The upstairs area was a lot of fun, and the Polish vodka and DJ music added a lively, festive touch to the atmosphere.
There is also convenient parking near the restaurant, which made the visit even better. I can’t wait to come back!

I really enjoyed my time at Polonia! The staff treats you like family and really is passionate about the food and service that they provide. The homemade cherry and cranberry flavored vodkas were both absolutely delicious and I also loved the Tatanka with apple juice! The potato pancake was my favorite, so crisp! The potato and farmers cheese pierogis were full of filling and tasted so fresh! I can honestly tell you that Polish food is not my number one choice but everything tasted fresh and authentic, because it is all made-from-scratch. The grilled kielbasa, meatballs, and sauerkraut pleasantly surprised me with their flavor. You are in for an authentic, charming dining experience here!

Our favorite Polish restaurant! Beautiful, clean restaurant, excellent food, and wonderful service!
Prices are fair also.
The dill soup is a must!
We love the city chicken and their kapusta is fantastic! Well worth the drive to Hamtramck.
Shown in the pic are the hot meatloaf sandwich and pork chop sandwich. Both were great! I believe the pork chop sandwich was on homemade bread. Very good.

I love that Polonia has an A La Carte menu, so I can get a little bit of this, a little bit of that. Everything is good, but I often dream of the beet salad. Our server Jackie was the absolute sweetest ! Take my advice, eat here!!

Polonia Restaurant in Hamtramck is like stepping directly into a cozy dining room in the heart of Poland! The old-world charm, complete with wood-paneled walls and festive decor, creates the perfect atmosphere for a hearty, authentic meal.
The Dill Pickle Soup is an absolute revelation—creamy, tangy, and a must-try for any visitor. I can’t get enough of their Hungarian Goulash served over potato pancakes; the pancakes are perfectly crisp, and the stew is rich and tender. Whether you’re going for the classic Pierogi or the massive City Chicken, the portions are huge and the flavors are deeply nostalgic. It’s the ultimate comfort food destination in Michigan!

Solid spot if you’re craving classic Polish comfort food. The portions are generous, the food is hearty, and everything tastes very traditional and home style. I ordered a few staples and left full and satisfied. Some dishes really shine, while others felt more good than great, which is why I’m landing at four stars instead of five. The atmosphere is casual and no frills, and the staff were friendly and efficient.

I'm Ukrainian and was spoiled as a little girl with my Ukrainian grandma's stuffed cabbage growing up. Polonia's stuffed cabbage are amazing and almost as good as my grandma's . Everything that my family has at the restaurant has been incredible.

My first experience with a Polish restuarant. I was thrilled with my experience! The staff was very friendly and accomodating. I ordered an authentic Polish beer, the beet salad and the Combo platter. My partner ordered the tomato dumpling soup and the potato pierogies. We couldn't be happier but could not eat it all. Highly recommended!
