love this spot!!!!! we rented the private screening room to celebrate a friends birthday, and had a blast! very cute vintage vibes, and the staff was great- they delivered our drinks & snacks to us so quickly. amazing cocktails ? will definitely be back

Love it here! They always show really good movies and the cocktails are super tasty. They also have a cool private room you can rent so you can watch whatever movie you want w friends. And they have karaoke on Fridays!

Had a lovely time, Film Lab is one of my favorite places to be. Great drinks and people. As well as a sweet selection of movies. Also! There is a private side room available for rent with a projector. Rented it with a few friends recently and it was just what we needed.

We were in the area and stopped in the Film Lab to inquire about a special event and renting out the venue. I've been wanting to enjoy a film here for quite some time. They have a few interesting movie line ups in the future. It's a very quaint, cozy atmosphere and I love the concept with small screening engagements. They have a full bar and even make a special crafted cocktail to pair with the movie! How cool is that? There is a small lounge area off the main room to enjoy a beverage or two. They do have open hours for just cocktails. I wanted to keep this place my little secret! SHhhhh.....
Drinks were top notch. The setting is comfortable. A great way to spend an evening.

This place is great! It's beautifully decorated and has such a welcoming, throwback feel. Went last night and caught the end of The Shining. I'll definitely go back to see a whole movie as the setup was great! Stayed and watched karaoke and had so much fun. This place is a gem!

A really cool experience- I can't wait to be back! We came here with some friends to see a film and I was unsure of what to expect. I grew up in Hamtramck and couldn't imagine how we were going to watch a movie in this space but I was so pleasantly surprised! The drinks were fantastic and the idea of the drive-in/walk-in space next to the building is a great way to enjoy Hamtramck as well as bring a crowd to the city that may not find it otherwise.

I wanted to love this place, and the inside is amazing. 5 stars for that. It’s aimed for cinephiles and clearly the owner loves movies and has her heart in the right place.I have to say, however, I found the outdoor viewing experience super disappointing. I went to see a movie I hadn’t seen before, and was excited about. The Sound quality of the headphones wasn’t great, and they didn’t block out street noise. There were constant, distracting shadows cast on the screen from the overhangs. I had to walk out of the screening.If I were seeing an old favorite just for the fun of seeing a movie with some friends, it would be fine… but for a film I really want to immerse myself in, it‘s just not an optimal viewing experience. If we could have screened the film indoors, I would have been much more satisfied.TL;DR a great spot for a fun movie night out but a terrible way to experience a film if you care about sound and picture quality.
