Not fancy just great freaking fish. I did the Singapore Chili Whitefish. After eating all over the world I easily place this in my top five. Every other in that five was fancy schmansy. This was just good food. A solid 10 out of 10 on the fish. Perfectly prepared and that spicy Singapore Chili? Wow!

It was really good! However, ss a fried fish aficionado, I wasn't impressed with the thick crispy breading on the perch... But the fish itself was very good as was the tartar sauce! Fries were excellent!

I was excited to come here after reading the reviews but I was actually surprisingly disappointed by this place. The place is quirky and the fish is well cooked and tender but it's very salty, so much so that it kind of burned my tongue. I also thought the portion size was really quite small considering how expensive this place is - and wow is it expensive for what you get. I paid about $23 for a basket which included a little baked potato and a small fillet of fish and I left feeling very hungry. I'm not a particularly big or hungry person but the serving in the fish basket was really more like an appetizer and I felt like I could have easily eaten at least two more. They're also quite pushy for tips considering it's a serve yourself kind of place. It sounded good but I think there are better options.

Some of the best freshest whitefish in the U.P. Light cornmeal breading, yummm! Nice little view of the lake from the picnic tables. If you're looking for fancy dining this is not the place, but if you're looking for good fish and a quaint little spot it is. Get the sweet potato as a side with butter and brown sugar. You won't be disappointed.

We went there twice while staying in the State Park and then on our way back west from Marquette we drove up the peninsula just to have another meal there before heading back home. Just so good, the fish chowder is unlike anything I've ever had. The Singaporechili whitefish will make you smile with each bite. My mouth is watering while I type this... The open air seating is comfortable with great views The staff is quite pleasant. Food prep was fast. If you're too precious for a portable toilet there's a restroom in the fish store as well as bagged ice and fresh fish of course. We're going to make this a destination trip before the summer is over.
