A very low key place; very much like a sparse living room, but good pancakes, finnish pie and serve yourself coffee.

One our favorites in town, you have to try the Pannu Kakku!

Cute and cozy place to pop in, have a nice warm beverage, lunch, or dessert snack.
Assortment of books at the entrance of you want to read and sit on the couch to relax.
Very polite staff, and fair prices. There’s a small gift section as well if you’re looking for locally made items. Really love this place, it was a very relaxing visit.

I tried the cinnamon rolls, nisu, and chocolate croissants — they were all incredible! I’ve never had bakery that was so soft and chewy. The perfect balance of bread and sweetness. I can’t wait to get more!

Every time we go to NISU we are Not disappointed. Excellent food, there’s a little gift shop in the store and the owner and her employees are all very friendly.

Quiet little cafe with some simple sandwich, baked good and salad fare, I had the egg muffin and the chevre and pear salad. The muffin was very tasty with chunks of spinach, ham, and peppers and nice toasty cheese on top. The salad was out of this world. The ingredients were fresh and vibrant, all the fruit was tangy, and it was filling. They also have a small collection of soaps, lotions, jewelry and coffee for sale.

Hubby enjoyed his ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Service was slow but it seemed like they had a lot of takeout orders. He also liked the coffee! All in all, we’d come back again.

Depends on what you get; the price is a little high for the quality compared to other bakeries in the area

Irma, the owner and cashier, the day I visited is a wonderful Finnish lady who makes some amazing pastries and savory lunches. I had the cinnamon rolls, and the rye with smoked salmon spread. I also took a shrimp sandwich to go (it was loaded!). All were very authentic Finnish, and delicious. There is a small section in the cafe with various products. Fazer blue chocolate is a favorite of mine. May be that I'm biased having grown up in Finland, but I think its the best chocolate in the world. Will be sure to visit NISU again whenever I'm in the area.

My husband and I both got the Nordic spruce Turkey sandwich. My husband was super excited that it had sprouts on it, and the Turkey was a thick cut clearly just carved from a whole Turkey. Really fresh and good ingredients. Minimal options on the menu outside of baked goods, but what they do, they do well.
