The Compass Room at True North Golf Club

Been here many times as I am a local. Came Labor Day weekend and surprised to be the only people dining for lunch. Ordered the caprese salad brought to me with moldy tomatoes and slimy old spinach. The burger ordered medium was rare on the edges and medium in the middle as if it was microwaved? Rubbery burger texture. FYI they charge you the tip in the bill but don’t tell you in hopes you might double down on your dog food. Enjoy!

The walleye was extremely fresh. Very well prepared and delicious! Dont leave without the beignets.. we had to get a second order. Delish. Ambiance is beautiful as well

They were not serving any food. Our reservation was for dinner at 4:30. We could get a drink but the bar closed at 5:00. They even had the nerve to charge us for the drinks even after this mishap.

the menu looked creative but the preparation was only adequate. we had the calamari and though the flavor was good, the breading was falling off everywhere. i had the salmon and it was overcooked. my husband had the walleye and said it was just ok. it is a shame because the setting is lovely and the service was great.

We had an amazing meal seated outside with perfect temperatures. Our server, Chris, was spot on. They made a great old fashion as well. I had the Carbonara and would order it next time as well. The calamari was lightly battered to perfection. I would recommend over and over.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at The Compass Room. The service was excellent. The food was fresh and delicious. Wonderful views as well. Definitely will return.

The course is private and amazing! The restaurant -Compass Room- is open to the public. You’ll need an entry code to get through the gate. Chef Eddie and team prepare a fabulous meal. The quality is high and the presentation outstanding! Try the tomato soup! Very tasty and prepared with basil that is grown on site. Recommend!

we live around the corner from this restaurant so it is very convenient. the food is good and if the weather is nice and you can eat outdoors it is wonderful. the setting is very beautiful. that was not the case on this particular night - it was windy and rain was threatening, but we still had a lovely meal and there was live music.

There were 2 tables in the restaurant and it took over 30 minutes for our main entree to arrive. Appetizer came very quickly and was very good. Portobello escargot and potstickers. Our entree was very good (veal scallopini with morel mushrooms and walleye). Overall food was very good but it took just too long. Second time we've been here in the last 5 years and both times there was no one in the restaurant.

our first time this year eating here. food and service were both very good. they were a bit confused about the open table system and had no notion of our reservation, but i'm assuming that since i was granted my points, they have figured it out. location and views were outstanding.

Excellent dinner. Live music, great ambiance, and really beautiful setting.

Tuna sandwich was very dry. Service was great though.
