Private event with chef battle was amazing . I would recommend either the return to the Chef battle as a must do event. The food on the everyday is outstanding .
Bar Gabi was absolutely stunning. The aesthetic is spot-on — perfect for a romantic date night or a fun evening out with friends. The food was incredible, and I truly can’t say enough about the service. Chris and Chris — you both were amazing! I’ll definitely be back.
I don't say this lightly because food is an important part of my life, but that was by far the best meal and overall dining experience I've had in my entire life. We ordered the valentine's 4 course meal and every single bite was well thought out and executed to perfection. Brilliant seafood, fresh pasta, rich flavor without being over the top, in two words - perfectly balanced. The service was phenomenal, the entire staff was engaged and you could feel the passion behind what they were doing which makes the whole experience so much more fun. The owners were going around chatting with everyone, answering questions and explaining how they got to this point and the inspiration behind each dish. I cannot recommend Bar Gabi enough, it's the best restaurant in Metro Detroit
The food was amazing, so flavorful. Their food is at the level of Michelin stars restaurants. You are missing out a wonderful experience if you are not going there.
Lots of positives- lots of negatives . Decor is great. All the food tasted great - even though it came out kinda cold . 3 people shared 2 mains, 2 appetizers. Brussel sprouts, sausage plate as appetizers. A rabbit special plate & Romanian plate called sarmali - basically a stuffed cabbage, $32 plate came with1 medium sized meat. Server was nice ,but brand new. Knew nothing about wine list. Settled on a $60 bottle of Sauvignon blanc - not once - BUT TWICE- he came back & tried to upsell bottles of wine - that he couldn't explain- for $50 more a bottle- TACKY . Seem like they are almost trying too hard - to be high end
Delightful dining experience. You better try the langos, mititei, ceasar brussel sprouts, insanely good potatoes, and the gin garden cocktail - it's magical.
Such great food & warm and inviting service. Decor was warm and moody, cocktails were fantastic, the curated playlist was hip & fun. Loved everything about it
We don't get out much as parents of 4 young kids, so when we do we make the most of it. BarGabi met all of the marks, they have an awesome ambience with real candles, all around the restaurant and great vibes provided by all who work there. The food is amazing and full of flavor, you have to try the focaccia bread and brussels sprouts to start! We will definitely be back again!
Staff and service were exceptional, cocktails were amazing especially with the house made brine and artfully stuffed olives... the food was amazing! We tried a special- bison lasagna, along with the short rib, rigatoni, the schnitzel, and three of the amazing starters. We truly enjoyed the unique flavor of each item. The desserts were top-notch! The tiramisu and the Crema had very authentic flavors. 10/10 recommend-already planning on bringing some guests from out of town there next month.
The last time I had the skinless sausage appetizer it was much spicer/tasty and more well done. very disappointed. I've had better negroni before. This one was ok, but nothing special. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I will be back.

The background techno music was too loud and jarring beats. My wife found the seafood pasta dish too fishy tasting and had to ask for another entree (she likes anchovies and had the smelt appetizer so she is not fish-phobic). The co-owner came to the tabel to ensure the new order was satisfactory. We were celebrating a birthday and a nice desert with Happy Birthday in chocolate was gifterd. The Taramisu was topped with oatmeal which was unusual, but it was tasty. The prices are a bit high but they are riding the wave of notoriety and I say go for it.
Small menu, but with dishes not often offered, and they were well prepared with generous portions.
Great vibes. The appetizers were very delicious. The entrees were good and the desserts hit the spot. Got to meet the chefs at the end of closing. Very nice people. Will definitely return and highly recommend trying out if you're a foodie. A little pricey but nothing too bad.
Drinks and appetizers were the highlight of the meal. The sea bass fell short for my taste, and the rigatoni and fregula were similarly underwhelming. I would opt for different entrée selections on my next visit. Five stars for Claire, our server! She was super attentive and really pleasant.
It was our first time at bar gabi. I wish we had a larger party to try more items. Everything we ate was really good. It was a bit pricy but will definitely return.
