Restaurant was very nice and had great food! The atmosphere was fun and lively. Our server was super friendly and sweet! The owners even stopped by to say hello and chat with us. We felt very welcomed! Let's not forget the great desserts! We had Albinita, Tiramisu and Cremes, and they were all super good! 10/10, would highly recommend and will definitely be dining here again!

I’ve been here twice in the last three weeks, and I’m already going back. Bar Gabi brings a fresh modern twist to Romanian-American cuisine — inspired by our roots, but cooked with the creativity of a young chef born in Romania.
It’s not the traditional dishes that make me return, but the concept itself. The food is tasty, fresh, and well-balanced every single time. You can feel the passion behind each plate and the courage to build something new.
A great start for a restaurant with real potential. I highly recommend it.

A few of my friends and I went to Bar Gabi within a month of it opening. It's often prudent to give restaurants a bit of grace when they're so fresh and working out the kinks. Bar Gabi did not need such consideration. The menu was delicious from front to back. Admittedly I'm no expert on Romanian cuisine but after this meal I just might spend some time investing in their ways/culinary culture. The Schnitzel was well cooked yet succulent. The lobster/squid ink linguini was one of the stars of the show. A light wave of heat with a generous helping of different flavors. The steak? Immaculate. I really expected nothing but a 5-6/10 due to their recent opening and my downright ignorance in this country's food offerings. I couldn't be happier to be wrong and have already planned a meal with my mother here in the future. Service, execution, hospitality, ingenuity (both for cocktails, savory and dessert) were all staples of this truly excellent meal. Can't wait to dine here again.

Chefs Gabriel and Gabriela Botezan were two of my favorite chefs at FrameBar, so I was extremely excited to check out their new restaurant at FrameBar’s former location. Beyond excited to have a restaurant like this in our neighborhood! The vibes are immaculate, our drinks were excellent and our bartender was super friendly. And so grateful they have vegan options. The focaccia app and root vegetable entree was absolutely amazing. It would be great to see a vegan pasta option on the menu or something a little less oily (my only critique). Cannot wait to be back!

We’ve been devoted followers of these chefs through their pop-up days and Frame Bar residencies, so visiting Bar Gabi twice within their first two weeks of opening felt like reuniting with old friends. The wait was worth it…they’ve created a warm, welcoming space that showcases Romanian cuisine with the same passion and skill we’ve come to expect.
The lángos with garlic sauce is a must-order, though heed their warning about the garlic…they’re not kidding when they suggest going easy. The mitiței delivered on flavor with perfectly seasoned, juicy grilled sausages. The beets were a delightful surprise, and the chicken liver pâté, while generously portioned (perhaps too much for one person), was rich and well-executed.
The tomahawk schnitzel impressed with its size and perfectly crispy coating, though the accompanying potato salad didn’t quite complement the dish, a different side would elevate this already solid entrée. The goulash had robust flavor but leaned a touch too fatty for our taste.
The standout entrée for me? The rigatoni with braised short rib is a beautiful homage to Chef Gabe’s signature cacio e pepe style, with tender meat and perfectly al dente pasta.
Desserts stole the show…both the tiramisu and honey cake were outstanding. If we’re being picky, the honey cake could have used a few more cherries, but that is only because they were so tasty.
The cocktails are excellent, and the service struck the perfect balance of friendly and professional, impressive for a team still in their opening weeks.
Bar Gabi feels like the permanent home these talented chefs deserve. We’ll absolutely be back.
