I ordered the tomahawk schnitzel. Took the left over bones and when I went to re heat my food there was plastic underneath the breading. I completely lost my appetite and threw the rest away.

Food was amazing!! We had the smelt, brussel sprouts, tomahawk, and polenta with mushrooms. Service as great also. Looking forward to going back and trying their house made pastas.

We picked Bar Gabi for a holiday catch up with our Romanian friends and an introduction to traditional Romania cuisine; we were not disappointed. We were focused on catching up and discussing the food, so we do not have photos but the night started with Langosh. What a wonderful, flavorful start! The base pastry was crispy on the outside and chewy inside topped with a generous amount of creamy feta cheese which perfectly paired with your chosen drizzle of garlic sauce. We also tried the mititei, an amazing uncased sausage that was tender, juicy, flavorful, and has a wonderful smoky charcoal flavor that is well balanced by the mustard dipping sauce. Our friends had the piept de pork, a pork belly dish with chestnut purée and from the woods which was assorted wild mushroom sauce over house made polenta. Both enjoyed every bite and said it reminded them of home. My husband had the goulash which was warm, a hint of heat from the paprika, and packed full of tender braised beef; it was like a cozy winter hug. I had the Samura de peste which was fresh sea bass with a blistered tomato sauce over polenta. The fish was tender and flaky while the polenta was creamy and just the right compliment to the acid of the tomatoes. The grand finale was most of our table ordering papanasi, a traditional pastry that, in this case, was filled with a subtle lemon cream and topped with spiced blueberry compote. It was amazing, as was the slice of albinita, a moist, tender honey cake layered with cherries and topped with a praline crunch. Both Chef Gabi's were kind enough to stop by the table to say hi and talk food with us. It is quite clear the have a passion and love for the food the create as well as sharing it with the patrons that come to enjoy it. We look forward to the next visit and trying more authentic Romanian dishes!

Great atmosphere and very good vibes. What really stands out is the creative mix between Romanian cuisine and American flavors — familiar, but with a unique twist. The drinks were well made, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the place has a relaxed yet lively energy. Perfect spot to meet friends and enjoy a great evening. I'll definitely come back.

Bar Gabi was a beautiful experience. I was looking forward to eating Romanian cuisine since I had recently come back from an Eastern European vacation and have been craving it. The service, the ambience and the food was phenomenal. I'm already planning on coming back soon! We ordered the steak and the pork schnitzel. The pork was massive and honestly could have been a shared dinner when paired with an appetizer and dessert. Get the albinita, you won't be disappointed.

On a cold December evening, we found the enveloping warmth of Bar Gabi staff and food something to celebrate. Our server, Chris, was exemplary in his attention and suggestions. As busy as it was that evening, we never lacked for attention at just the right moment. The food was outstanding: Brussel Sprouts Caesar, Focaccia, Tomahawk Schnitzel, Chitarra Swordfish Pasta and an excellent Romanian Cremes. for dessert How nice to not have to travel far to taste such perfectly prepared Romanian food. Thank you, Bar Gabi for a great evening, good vibe, and even better Romanian music.

Another incredible meal at Bar Gabi... It's quickly becoming one of those places I come back to at least monthly. Top notch food, drinks, ambiance and service. And the owners are just so sweet. Love supporting Bar Gabi!

Having recently visited Romania, we were anxious to visit Bar Gabi. We enjoyed the beet appetizer as well as the Brussels sprouts. The pork stuffed pickled cabbage and pork schnitzel were outstanding! I especially enjoyed the potato salad! We'll be back again soon!

The food was excellent! We would have loved to see some soups, especially on such cold days. The waitress was very helpful with her suggestions. The inside room was very cold, both temperature and ambiance, as there was no decore, certainly no Romanian decor. The noise level was very high, as there was nothing to muffle the noise. The staff was very nice, however, there were long breaks before we saw them again, maybe because the room was packed, and there weren't enough workers.
