Matt & Mo's Italian Beef

Im born and raised from Chicago. Southside Englewood. Been eating this food my entire life and I am also a Chef. Graduated from OCC with an extended Culinary degree and a Restaurant Management degree. Matt and Mo's is doing their thing. Love the originated Italian beef sandwiches and sausage pizza puffs. They're very good. P.s. original Italian cheesy beefs come with American cheese, not mozzarella or any other.

We love matt n moes, we come every Wednesday and spend 70 or more bucks. Can't get a cup of water for my 3 year old. Womp womp. I'm not going to stop coming, just wanna give feedback.

Despite only having one vegan option available, it was actually quite good. Ordered the vegan Chicago dog (which you can also order plain) and the vegan black cherry ice cream. The hotdog was a spicy Italian style and had all the dressings. I also appreciated that the vegan ice cream wasn’t just a vanilla but was an interesting flavor. They told me this was the only non-dairy flavor they had. I liked my meal and would recommend but knocked a star for only having one real option (the other for not being fully vegan).

Food is very good! It's just like being home in Chicago .

Overpriced and not edible as a sandwich. Beef inside was good but they purposely soak the bread and its a soggy mess. The staff was also pretty rude

Best beef sandwich I have had in the Detroit area. Granted I don't go around hunting for good hot beef sandwiches but the meat was tender the aus jus was salty and the peppers were hot. Just premium. I know Doug is proud his stand is still up and running serving the neighborhood.

Another very overpriced restaurant in HP.
$8+ for an Italian sausage. I can get real homemade Italian sausage for less than that.
I literally have not eaten there ever because I'm not stupid enough to pay that much for a snack.
Back when it was just Doug's delight, blue collar people from the neighborhood could actually afford to eat there.

After months of wishing, I made it to Matt and Mo's for the Italian beef sandwich. And the best I can say is,it was...ok. Not worth the nearly $15 I spent. Might have tasted better with the provolone cheese, but I didn't want to spend another $1 and change for it. If you want a truly exceptional Italian beef make the drive to Portillos. Their Italian beef sandwich for me was a religious experience!

All I can say is the Italian beef sandwiches are so damn good. I have ordered catering for football games and its always a hit. The sandwiches for lunch and fried ravioli as an app are unbeatable. Thank you for always providing an excellent product!

I just had thee BEST Caprese sandwich 🥪 😋 ~ the bread was so soft and so well seasoned, the pesto was perfect and the tomatoes & mozz... well you know
I'll be thinking about this sandwich all day!! YUMMMMM.... GO GET YOU SOME!
