Dive Bars near Houghton Lake

“I grew up in the house next door ( now a used car lot) in the 50’s and early 60’s. I took my wife up there to show her where I grew up and was happy to see the Spikehorn was still there. We stopped in had lunch it was very busy so we ate at the bar. Service was great bartender was friendly and efficient. Food was good . No complaints. I will be going back whenever we are back to Houghton Lake.“

“My Dad, Bernie Budreau used to play the piano at this bar along with my Uncle Art Budreau on Sax. There was a line all the way over to the fire department waiting to get in. Standing room only. I grew up in that bar. The previous owners Jerry and Alice had a daughter Kris and she would babysit us upstairs in their apartment.
