This is a wonderful classic sports bar with friendly staff and great prices. We only stopped in for a drink. The service was speedy and we had a great chat with the bar tender and other customers. We look forward to going back in the future.

The perfect bar, and easily the best bar in Houghton. Super fun wall signs, shuffleboard, pool, pull tabs, sports, pickled eggs, popcorn, cheap drinks. You really can’t get better than this. Normally enough space to play cards or chat with friends without having to yell over eachother! Wish there was a B&B in every town

B & B Bar — where the drinks are cold, but the welcome is colder
Walked into B & B Bar in Houghton and immediately got the “you don’t belong here” stare from the entire room — honestly thought I walked into a movie scene where the strangers are about to get run out of town. We sat down, my boyfriend went to the bar to order drinks, and the bartender must have been deeply invested in her conversation with her friends because she acted like we were invisible. Eventually, she took our order like it was the biggest inconvenience of her day. We still tipped her $5 (because apparently, we’re nicer than she is), and she didn’t even say thank you. If you’re looking for friendly service, go literally anywhere else.

Had to go to B&B for a second time 5 years later, from Madison area, for the shuffleboard, pool, and good vibes. Stayed because of the welcoming locals, owners, and bartender-Meg. Drink prices were good; Pickled eggs were good. We had a great time and are looking forward to our next trip.

Cheap drinks, and ok atmosphere, however service was strange. It is awkward to go to a bar and have the bartender be just mean. I get it, you may be busy, but to being a little mean and rude is the opposite of your position description. I tried to cheer them up with a big tip, but it didn't help. OK place, but cranky bartender that made me feel like I wasn't welcomed.

Really great prices, service is great, however, they don’t take Diner’s Club or traveller’s checks anymore - so take that into consideration before running up a tab. Ask for Stella and try the vegan mochi; Wheels Up tour should be back this summer, too!!
