Bring your ear plugs! Somehow the owner think people want to go out to dinner and hear OVER AMPLIFIED covers of 70's rock performed by "C" level local bands. Sorry, not the case. The music was blasting at 6:30. I've asked several times for the music to be turned down (on various visit). I even asked the manager with the response "I know, it is a little loud" and did nothing about it. Dinks are $$$, Food is expensive, and 4% upcharge for using a card. Solution: cut the volume in half, and think about a mellow guitar, or light jazz until later. People come for food and conversations, not bloody ear drums. Solution: Don't start the live music until 8:00.

Lovely canal and portage bridge views during the day turned to a soft and warm ambiance after sunset. Dinner date night setting with hand crafted cocktails was romantic in a historic brick firehall with a live music setting. The cuisine was creative and excited the taste buds. On service staff was a refreshing energy as they delivered with an exceptional performance. I'd highly recommend!

Went here for Valentine’s Day, with a reservation for 7pm. We did not get seated until 7:15, which I’ll look past since it was clearly a busy evening. Once we were seated, an hour passed and not one person had come and given us menus or even taken a drink order. Again, I understand it was busy but other tables were being served and we tried to flag down a waiter who completely avoided eye contact/avoided us. We eventually asked another waitress/hostess for menus after ~1.25 hours and she kindly took our drink and appetizer order. We eventually ordered food, which took over another hour to come out, they also brought out the wrong salads. It got to the point where we were just going to pay for drinks/app and leave because food was taking so long. (At this point it was 9:30 and half the tables in the restaurant were empty). We appreciate the kind waitress who comped and boxed our meals to go but regretfully felt ignored by all wait staff for hours.

We arrived at 5:30 which was slightly before the dinner rush. The place seemed dark at first but after your eyes adjust it is a nice setting. I had the elk burger and it was good and came out timely. Not the best burger I've ever had but not bad. The cocktails were very good. Wait staff also did a great job checking on us. However, either the manager lady with the greyish hair or the owner (not sure which) walks around and seems to micromanage everything. Maybe it's petty but it was a little annoying watching her eyeball everyone and everything in the place and then have her march past like a drill sergeant.

atmosphere is really nice & our server was attentive, but the kitchen was soooo slow. first time here we waited an hour for our food, went the other night to give it a second chance and sat for close to THREE hours waiting for our entrees with a table of 6. that long of a wait is ridiculous. we had a reservation for 7 pm and by the time the food came it was 9:45. the table we reserved got sat 10 minutes before we came in and they had to move us somewhere else, wasn't a big deal but honestly unprofessional. when the food finally came out, half of our sides were cold and the food was dry. wouldn't recommend. ‍

So, I have been waiting and thinking about what I was going to say about the CFC. To be fair, it looked like there was one wait staff working the entire floor, so I will not be hard on the service rating for that. She was doing the best as she could, which was pretty damn good! The food, too, was okay, not good enough to rave about, but not bad either. When checking a place out for the first time, one of the things I like to do is order a burger medium rare and see how it is cooked and presented. The burger was cooked perfectly, but the meat was devoid of flavor. The sweet potato fries were also okay. We will go back and try them again. We won't be running back every week, but we will give them another try.

wife ordered filet medium rare it came after an hour wait well done. Service was attrocious we arrived as the only customers at opening time and were first to order. my meal of brisket contained mostly fat and the garlic mashed potatoes and 'california' vegetable medley were pedestrian to put it kindly. I would recommend ANY other restaurant in this college town

Overall one of the worst dining experiences in the area. It takes over an hour to get your food. The drinks are watered down and poorly made. The last time we ate there the food was not good at all (the scallops are very sweet and sticky) and it was cold when it arrived.

Service is slow food is okay. When there is a band playing it is quite difficult to talk.
