First time trying this restaurant. I ordered the fried green tomatoes, salad with balsamic dressing and the flat iron steak with grits and seasonal veggies. The kitchen was out of grits (I came in shortly before close) and I had them sub onion rings. I ordered my steam medium rare and it was more towards medium rare. I took mom here for the first time. It's a very unique restaurant in the heart of Houghton. The food was excellent, but the service was a bit rocky. On our arrival, we had to wait for a bit to be seated. We didn't see our wait staff right away. The table next to us was seated after us, but got their order taken first. In the end, our superhero waitstaff made it work. She brought out 3 tables of food at the same time, like Wonder Woman. 😊

Very interesting design including old Houghton/ Hancock paintings and pictures along with other historic items from the town. Food has always been fantastic when I go but the service is typically a little slow. I would say it's worth the wait though.

Dietary restrictions: As someone with celiacs I have always found this restaurant to be very friendly for gluten free individuals.
