Pilgrim Steakhouse was a terrific time and I would recommend it to anybody passing through Houghton. I’d describe the dress code as casual - after coming out of an Isle Royal backpacking trip and endeavoring to put on collared shirts, it was really not necessary. Our waiter, Billy, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and just a light in the room. I ordered the prime rib, my companion had the NY strip. My prime rib was fantastic, and I would recommend it above all other dishes. My companion was jealous of me because it was as so good! If you’re getting off the trail, make this a stop!

We were so disappointed our last visit after eating here for 17 years. Despite being the only customers and several wait staff around that clearly saw us, we weren't welcomed or served for 5-10 minutes. The ranch and bread with the salad weren't the same. They substituted frozen fries for their famous hand cut fries because of supply issues. My husband ordered the deep fried cod special and the fish was cold and completely flavorless. They've substituted cloth napkins with paper. It just seems they are trying to cut corners in multiple places and the customer is not the most important. Spinach salad was still delicious.

I've been here multiple times. I liked the food I got which was the chicken hogie. Decorations of all the animals should go since it ruins my experience there. Other than that the place is good, I like that the lights are dimmed and not so bright. Sometimes the servers are slow to attend to you though.

Food was okay, but nothing special therefore, overpriced. Speed of service was pitifully slow. The TV ad showed tablecloths on tables and appeared to be fine dining. In reality, paper placemats, inadequate lighting, very small tables. I won't go back.

My husband and I ate here on a trip to the Keweenaw. The food was good and the service was good. It wasn't spectacular but good and we'd eat here again.

Pilgrim River has always been one of the best dining restaurants in the Keweenaw. Parking is more than adequate but it was a little strange for a friday night to walk in to an open door, no hostess and a sign to seat yourself. Service was very good. Food was very good but the steaks could have used some seasoning. Prices were high but what isn't anymore. I would go back and recommend to friends.

Service was terrible but likely because the bar staff was terrible and the cooks were as well. 20 minutes to get first draft beer. 20 minutes after ordering to get second but only after reminding her. Then the whitefish was terrible. Worst I’ve ever had. Dried out and and a quarter inch of spices on it to hide the flavor. It may have been carp for all I know. Avoid.

When we go to Houghton once or twice a year we always go here for a Steak Dinner We have never been disappointed with the Food or the Service This last trip we went on a Saturday Evening

Service was good. The food was pricey and subpar. My chicken was a bit dry and chewy. A friend ordered the same and hers was dry too. Another friend ordered steak medium, it was burnt on on one side. Pilgrim River seems to be cutting corners to save money, but I think their strategy might drive customers away.
Restaurant was nice atomsphere, very rustic. Chairs are uncomfortable. Food was great. Wait staff was very nice. Would recommend but it is on the higher price range of restaurants

Needless to say our reservations were “lost.” The team worked together to accommodate us, which we were thankful. Overall the food was ok, steak was tough & undercooked. But, please, please treat your employees with respect. My husband and I have worked as leaders in the food service industry for over 40 years each. It’s not our first rodeo.
