Chocolate Boutique & Bakery

I've come here before and really liked their desserts so I thought I would order a cake. I asked the owner when she would be making it in case I had to change it or cancel my order and I was told that she wouldn't start till Wednesday. I called late Tuesday night and left a message and then called again on Wednesday and spoke to someone working there to confirm that they received the message and spoke to them about the $25 deposit I put down on the cake. I asked if it could be used to purchase other items there and was told that I could. I didn't ask for my money back. I just asked for a credit to purchase other items because I thought that the desserts she made were good. When I came in to use that deposit credit I was told that she was not going to give it to me and that that's the reason for a deposit.
So just know you're basically stuck purchasing cake even if you let them know in advance there may be changes. If you want to just grab and go with something that's one thing but I definitely wouldn't put any orders in for cakes because I literally told her I might have to make changes and warned her before and I was told that I had time if I needed to make a change and then I was treated like I was being irrational to use the deposit for something else in her shop after being told it was ok and driving here to pick something else out. I would definitely think twice about making any orders because the service here is questionable at best. Also, her cake pricing is very high for what appears to be low quality cakes(based off the other pictures with reviews) It was a small 6 inch cake that she charges $50 for. I found another bakery with much better quality, prices and service.
I wanted to add that I had been to this place before and gotten other items that I enjoyed so I did not look at the reviews before going back to order a cake but I wish I had. I also wish the owner would have honored the deposit and let me use it as a credit so I could continue to come back because I did really like this place at one point but sadly I will not be returning after this experience.

Good luck! Called up there 6 different times this week to try and order a birthday cake. Gave my name and number for a call back which never happened. Tried again today and was told the lady was still nto there to help. Now I know to not try using this place

Macarons are to die for, anytime I am downtown I try to stop in there! If their other treats are half as good as their macarons they are probably delicious.

The cup cakes we pretty good not to sweet. Not sure if it was worth the $5 probably won't get it again

I love this bakery so much. They have a huge variety of treats, including some I've never even heard of, and everything I've tried so far has been excellent. The cupcakes in particular are fantastic.

And I can't forget to mention the BUBBLE TEA! It's great and there's a wide variety of tea flavors, flavor add ins, and bubble flavors, and you can customize it to your liking. If they were open later and downtown was more convenient I would be here every day buying bubble tea.

All of the employees are friendly and helpful, and very kind and understanding when it takes me ages to order because I want everything.

They also often have great little gift boxes with various items and different price points that make excellent gifts for any occasion.

I'd highly encourage anyone visiting downtown Howell to stop in and try a few different types of treats. Don't be afraid to be adventurous; I've enjoyed everything I got even with no idea what it actually was.

Parking: It can be hard to park on the street in front during busy times, but there are some open lots behind that block that usually have a few open spaces.

Kid-friendliness: It's a fairly small store so not one you want to bring massive strollers into, but other than that kids would really enjoy it.

I go here all the time because I live in Howell. My favorite treats from there is the strawberry kiwi fruit Boba Tea ☕ or the milk chocolate truffles. Their so luscious and delicious. It's like a harder shell and when you bite into it it's like another layer of softer milk chocolate with fresh caramel in the middle. It's always fresh. Never sticky or icky like the store bought. Like the ones you can tell have been in a bag. The milk chocolate caramel are my weakness. They are so good. Their so underrated and I definitely suggest trying them. Another one of my favorite snacks is the vanilla or birthday cake cake pops. Better than Starbucks could ever. Ever since I found mold in my Starbucks cake pop I wanted to try something else and i tried the chocolate boutiques cake pops. Their so good. It seems like the vanilla ones or the good ones are always sold out. So I'm not the only one lol. Definitely suggest they make more of the vanilla or birthday cake because people buy it more than the chocolate ones. But that could just be me. But whatever. I love this place. It's like chocolate heaven.

I live out of state and have never stepped foot in Howell, MI, but wanted to get a friend of mine a few treats for his birthday. I called to store to ask if they would deliver something to a business across the street, so I could avoid paying door dash to deliver something 200 feet away. While it was quite an unconventional request, they were happy to accommodate. Both girls I talked to were so sweet and helpful. I picked a dollar amount and they filled a box with all kinds of delicious goodies and delivered it today. Based on what they included in the box, I think he got a ton of delicious stuff for the price. My friend said everything was incredible and he's going to start going there now. 5 star experience for sure! 10/10 would order from them again!

This is easily one of my favorite places to go for a little sweet treat! It's always fun to go and see what sort of chocolate creations they have to choose from! One of my favorites is the chocolate covered nutter butters! They're incredible!! They always have new things to look at and try! Lots to choose from! They also have ice cream!

There is a seating area inside as well!

Do not go here for any kind of special orders. I ordered a pull apart cupcake "cake" in the shape of a "7" with neon/bright colors. They even asked for a pic and confirmed they could do it.... Charged me 65$ and I go pick it up and got 2 dozen overpriced cupcakes. Watch out, they will agree to your order but have no intention of completing it.

Edited to add: the cupcakes weren't even that good. The frosting was hard and fell/slid off the cupcakes. Go to Costco or Meijer where they'll at least try to fill your order and the cake you get will actually be good. I even had kids taking off the frosting on one whole chunk to just throw it in the garbage.

Way overpriced.
