Our favorite local coffee shop! My husband and I frequent good sense. Each time we are greeted with a smile & a warm welcome. The barista Heather is the best and always recognizes us when we come in.

They have a good variety of coffee selection to choose from with rotating seasonal flavors. We love the almond milk lattes in their big mugs. There is a nice area for you to sit and relax. The kids corner is perfect for little ones! A lot of time we come in to sit and work on our computers & it’s very welcoming to that. We also love that good sense is so involved with the community.

Highly recommend giving them a visit!

Love this place! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Gotta try their pour overs, you can taste the quality in the beans that Ian and his team roast themselves! Highly recommend

I paid over $6 for a hot maple latte coffee. It was one of their specials. She couldn't figure out how to work the register. It took 2 of them 5 minutes to get it to work. They were super nice and friendly. It was very disappointing after the wait that the coffee was cold. I had to heat it up in the microwave at work (which half of it boiled over). It never seemed to get hot. It was really a waste of money. The only saving grace was how polite they were.

Everything here is A+ except for the most important thing- the coffee. This coffee shop has an excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, clean bathrooms. It's a great place to sit and study or relax or hang out or read a book.

However, at the end of the day, a coffee shop will be judged on its coffee.

I ordered a latte here. I paid a premium price for it, and I was disappointed at the temperature. It was barely warm. Coffee should be served much hotter than this.

Damn fine cup of coffee, Diane. Whether ordering classic offerings or inventive flavors, Good Sense emulates its name flawlessly.

The service here is warm without being patronizing, polite without being standoffish. You order and it’s out in a heartbeat. Staff is always happy to resolve any concerns — so I’ve heard! I haven’t had any problems here.

Beautiful space, somehow even when it’s wildly busy I’ve been able to get a seat, no problem. I think there’s a wizard in the back conjuring chairs. I come here and feel welcomed by the decor, the people, the atmosphere. A far cry from the sterile, “get-the-hell-out” vibes at the green, two-finned monster. And the coffee, again, damn good.

They’ve added breakfast sandwiches. While they’re simple little stacks of bread-cheese-sausage-egg, they’re pretty good. I think you can only expect positives coming from this lovely little shop.

The only changes I’d be happy to see: Larger ice cubes in the iced drinks, as-is they’re a little too small and slip through the slot in the cup, and hotter sandwiches. A couple times I’ve gotten the sandwich, it was lukewarm. Didn’t make it harder to eat though ;)

(Aside: My first encounter with Good Sense was during the pandemic. 2020 or ‘21. Their coffee truck was stationed in one of the endless empty parking lots between Howell and Genoa Township. I was late for work and stopped anyway — sorry, boss — and it was well worth flirting with a reprimand. The coffee and staff were amazing, even all those years ago.)

I was disappointed they didn't have friendly vegan food options.

Nice place but this is the worst chai latte I've ever had unfortunately.

I came here when it first switched from Uptown and it wasn’t good. Tried again this week and it still wasn’t good. $8 for a large chai iced coffee that is probably about 16oz maybe 20oz- so pretty small for a large iced drink. Definitely not large or worth the price. Got 2 other drinks as well- nothing special or extra in them- and it was a little over $20.

My husband and I got some coffee at the farmer's market and paid $4 and the lady filled our cup up only 1/3 of the way. Absolutely ridiculous. Wont be returning.
