This business took the last money my family had for food and left us hungry this weekend.
On Friday, September 5th my partner purchased a surprise bag from Ben’s Soft Pretzels through the Too Good To Go app. Pickup was scheduled for Saturday, September 6th between 1:30 and 2:00. I drove 18 miles one way to pick it up, wasting my gas for nothing, because when I got there the store was closed.
This is not a one-time mistake. They have had a note posted since May saying they are closed on weekends, yet they continue to sell surprise bags on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays anyway. They even had more bags listed for Sunday pick up. That is not an accident. It is dishonest and harmful.
That $5 was the last of our money. It was supposed to be part of our food for the weekend and a birthday treat for our daughter. Instead, my kids were left crying, my autistic son had a meltdown when no food came back with me, and now we are forced to wait up to 14 business days just to get our money back. Meanwhile we are sitting here without food or gas money.
No business should ever get away with knowingly taking money for food they will not provide. They do not deserve five stars, they deserve none.

We are a homeless family and this was our last few dollars. We counted on this food to get us through the weekend. My daughter’s birthday is coming up and this was supposed to be her treat. Instead she cried when he came back empty handed, and my 9 year old autistic son had a meltdown because he had been waiting for this. Instead of food we were left hungry, broke, and hopeless.
To make it worse, they already posted new bags for days they are not even open. That shows this is not just a mistake. It is careless and harmful. Families who are struggling should never be tricked like this.
A refund does not fix what this did to us. It wasted our gas, our last bit of money, and left our kids in tears. Until they stop posting bags for days they are closed and actually make things right, they do not deserve anyone’s trust.

Experience was great I’ve been there multiple times staff are nice food is good. I wish we had Ben’s Pretzels closer to Grand Rapids, Mi we need more Ben’s pretzels. I never knew about this place until I seen it on the to good to go app and figured I try it out.

Stopped in at the Walmart location on 9thst in Ostemo MI ruffly 15 minutes before the advertised closing time and was told sorry but I am not making any more dough. So I was unable to order what my wife and I wanted for our dinner, the employee had to tell another 5 adults of which one had three kids the something. If a business is going to advertise a set of hours of business an employee should be ready and able to be there until all the customers have been served. All Restaurant will stay open after hours if needed. I am confused by the IntellAgent's of closing a Place such as this, right at the time most people are hungry. If you're going to turn business away why not close at noon and get it over with.
Manager or worker, name was Keith. Extremely rude when I went to order a pretzel. Tried to use my rewards points and he seemed unaware on how to redeem those. I had to walk him through the process. When points werent working he processed to yell at me and said “take the pretzel and get out of my store.” Very rude, will not be coming back.

I can say from experience that they treat their employees terribly and their cleanliness is questionable at best.

We stop in here about once a month… as it’s a good bit out of our way. Everything has always been great. The pretzels are delicious & the owners are extremely friendly (even when crazy busy). I don’t have a single complaint and suggest the Dutch almond pretzels bites.
