I had my first meal there on 12/21/24, excellent food! I will return!
Absolutely insulting portion sizes on the entree. Paid $22 for Aglio e Olio - and while it was delicious, it was half or less the size of the bowl it was served in.
I brought this up to the waitress who assured me this was normal for this specific plate.
I asked about similar pasta plates (one of which was $26) and was informed that they, too, were of the same serving size.
Great food, but not worth the almost "kid's menu" portions.
Ordering an entree should not feel like getting a side - especially when it's something like a pasta dish.

My new favorite restaurant!! Drinks were very balanced & yummy. Food is immaculate!! We tried the burrata and shrimp sticks which were quite an experience.
I've had a lot of pappardelle bolognese but this one might be the best. The short rib was also the best ive had. We will be back!!

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Cafe 36 recently, accompanied by a few friends. I must express that this has been one of the most exceptional dining experiences we have had in recent memory. The service was truly outstanding, and our server, who had recently joined the team from the esteemed Denver Area, demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the menu. Their expertise extended to both the drink and food offerings, providing invaluable recommendations. We are immensely grateful for this remarkable experience and eagerly anticipate our next visit to Cafe 36.

At first this place is hard to get to. It is part of a grocery store. The sign says "Market and Cafe". Once you go in you make two quick lefts. You can either take the stairs or the elevator. It is a smaller cafe but there is indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is only for parties of 2 because of the narrow patio. Everything was great at our visit. The food was delicious and high quality. The flavors were outstanding. My husband had the walleye and with corn and mushrooms. I never tasted a mushroom that good. I had a salad with chicken and that was delicious too. My husband also had the rhubarb cheesecake. He said it was the best cheesecake he ever had. Our waitress, Jeanie, who was excellent, said their chef makes it homemade from scratch. They also have items that are gluten free including dessert. The only thing that could be better was since the cafe is small their bathrooms are located in the grocery store below. The bathroom room was very clean and the market downstairs also has high quality and organic foods.
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options for some of their menu items.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator to get to the cafe on the second floor. The seating area is small, so it might be tight.

Best short ribs I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve never had a more tender piece of meat. We had the feature appetizer, kale Cesar salad, and my husband got the fish and chips and everything was incredible! Such a fun and different atmosphere with the grocery store underneath. You would never expect it to be such a classy and beautiful restaurant above but the atmosphere, food and drinks were all absolutely wonderful! We will definitely be back.

Please bring back the chicken, peas and mashed potatoes that were on the menu before the close. The way they grill the chicken now makes it taste burnt, too much scoring, it's on the kids menu, kids don't like burnt. I believe the previous chicken was roasted, it was our go to, please, please please, bring it back. I liked this place because I could get elevated food that I like, and they had dishes on the kids menu that wasn't pizza or chicken tenders, it was a real, nutritious meal.
Great food, great atmosphere. So happy they have reopened. Neighborhood

Shockingly expensive for dining in a grocery store. Drinks are overpriced, food costs so much I couldn't afford to be disappointed. I've been to some nice places in town but I felt like this place was trying to hard to make money. $30 for two average cocktails is absurd. $24 for Burata? Server was extra friendly and knowledgeable. We try to tip well whenever we go out but cost of menu items limited our decision making in regards to tip. It's a very nice place don't get me wrong but i don't think it was for me. Might give it another shot.
Kid-friendliness: Not a place to bring the kids, but I appreciated that. Definitely a more upscale vibe.
