I have been here twice and would recommend this!! I still remember the feta dip I had 5 years ago from this place and I still think about it. During my last visit I got the huevos supremos and it was really really good. Everything was perfect! On a personal note I like some hot sauce and I wasn't a fan of the one they had to offer. One of my friend got the tomato soup with grilled cheese which was unexpected but super tasty. The bread was thick and crunchy, the soup was very thick and had great flavor. Everyone enjoyed their food. This is a must go to spot if you are in the area.

Great brunch offerings. However the last few visits have not been what we were accustomed to. Service was very slow. Food temperature was borderline cold and the quality of the buns on the chicken sandwich underwhelming. Appearance of the location is starting to suffer from wear and tear. For now we will stick to breakfast / brunch staples. Hoping after COVID rebound their known potential and yummyness.

when in kalamazoo, food dance as an ideal restaurant to share epic moments full of love and laughter. yesterday we had the honor of celebrating my parents 27th year anniversary and the night couldn't have been more perfect. the staff was accommodating and cheerful. our waitress did an excellent job of suggesting drinks, appetizers and entrees. per her recommendation, i enjoyed a paloma cocktail. a mezcal beverage infused with grapefruit juice, and lime. honestly, it was the perfect marriage of impending laughs and giggles. the food dance menu is limited in size but most definitely brimming with brilliant creations. i highly suggest ordering the brussel sprouts appetizer; they consist of the perfect crispy brussel to bacon ratio. a burst of mouthwatering flavors and addiction in every bite. my entree was a tofu pad thai; though not authentic, their version was just as good and flavorful.

I’ve had fond memories of eating at this restaurant back in 2014 numerous times, I ate here once back in February 2018 and just ate here tonight (january 2021) and I really this is one of my favorite places to eat in downtown Kalamazoo. The service here is pretty good and there are a lot of amazing fixtures throughout the restaurant that help make it a cozy atmosphere and even tropical decorations at one section of the restaurant. For dinner tonight, I got the ribeye steak which was pretty good and I got a slice of their cat meow dessert which wasn’t too bad either. Another cool thing about this restaurant, at the entrance at the area before you get to the seating areas, there is an area where you can buy ice creams and other kinds of stuff here. Overall, I did enjoy my experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to eat in downtown Kalamazoo.

I am a big fan of food dance! I think my favorite menu item is the chickpeas. They are addictive and delicious

Extremely Disappointed. Salmon entree. The meal was tasty but the portion was ridiculous for the price. The entree cost $30 and salmon portion was the size of an appetizer.

At the recommendation of a co-worker my husband and I made reservations for dinner. Wait staff was friendly and attentive but unfortunately the food was bland and unimpressive. The Mango Mule I ordered was a joke, 3/4 of the glass was filled with ice and the remainder was a combination of water and a bit of mango squeeze…no alcohol could be detected. The space itself was comfortable and pleasing to the eye but with a combination of unappetizing food and bad drinks, we won’t be coming back.

Absolutely fantastic service, delicious food and wonderful ambiance. Had the roasted brussel sprouts, fresh tomato soup, gorgeous hamburger and topped it off with and affogato and some apple crisp. Kirsten was an excellent server, consistently checking to see if anything was needed. Definitely a must stop for food when in Kalamazoo.

This place is always good. Plus you get enough food to get another meal out of it if you so choose.

Good food, not your normal fare, but still enough comfort leftover.

Others noted the challenges Food Dance confronted the past few years. We were happy the scrappy restaurant survived, and it was busy on a Saturday mid afternoon. Baked goods, canned beverages, and an interesting selection of wines & booze will tempt and occupy you if there's a wait. Curried crispy chickpeas was our crunchy starter, along with Bell's amazing Rind over Matter draft and a Dark Boulevardier, an unexpectedly smooth espresso infused campari & carpano antica vermouth. It was delicious despite not knowing anything about those ingredients. The Pad Thai was huge, easily 2 meals, and not overly noodled as often the case. The chicken sandwich is not fried (!!) but don't let that put you off; you will devour it despite being the size of a canoe. Those fries! Our server explained the multiple step process FD follows to create perfect fries. A fruit crisp and peanut butter cookie lept into a bag and attached themselves to my hand as we exited with full bellies. Food service was slow, but staff was attentive and explained the well-known staffing challenges.

Haven’t been back since 1998 and wow! Beautifully designed new building with an artisan cafe tucked adjacent the main dining area. The pork chop we had was perfect, the bread service superb. Superior quality and my children loved the locally made ice cream, molasses pops and caramels. Thank you!

My breakfast dish was A-MA-ZING! I had eggs with spinach and artichoke served with a delicious orange-cranberry muffin! The service was first rate and the ambiance was great. Definitely one of my favorite Kalamazoo restaurants!

I visited Food Dance for brunch with my Dad and we were both very impressed with our meals and the outstanding service we received. I enjoyed a homemade macaroni and cheese meal with a cinnamon roll appetizers and apple cider mimosa. Food dance is a welcoming, talented restaurant and I am looking forward to coming back soon. My dad said many times that his breakfast was the best meal he's had in a long time.
