Pretty mediocre, both food and atmosphere. While certainly edible, the burger was nothing to write home about. Staff working the night I was there got the job done, but that’s about it. Oh well-it’s Kalamazoo.

Been coming here for many (and many) years and it’s still my favorite local place to visit because of its atmosphere. It used to be a super hidden gem but now even the college kids come weekends after 9p. Customers and staff are friendly making it home-like dive bar atmosphere. While there are a few restaurants on Michigan Ave that serve Beats on Bates (Wednesday evenings all summer in the alley outback - open, bright space truely), Green Top is the main bar working their asses off to make the evening always great for everyone. Credit to all the bands each week, as well!
Green Top's formula is pretty simple: be kind and cool, no BS, food and drinks always served right up.

Total hole-in-the-wall vibe—in the best way! Definitely not a posh or fancy spot, but that’s part of the charm. You’ll find a really diverse crowd, which makes for a fun and laid-back atmosphere. Drinks are priced fairly, and the food is great—definitely worth trying if you stop by!

Unfortunately when you order burgers you get a strand of human hair to go with it. Will never order food from there again just the drinks🤔🤦🏾♂️💯
Was just there trying to get drinks and food. We walked in , no acknowledgement from staff , sat at bar the guy walked by us twice didn't say anything except talk to a woman next to us about BS. Then the bartender waitress never said anything to us but instead would rather talk to a couple about her life . I thought this was a bar not a counselor office. So we left and went to Coney Island. Better service and food

We travelled to Kalamazoo for a concert yesterday and we stumbled into this tavern for food and drink prior to the show. We were so happy we stopped in. The Kentucky derby was going on and it was a big party! Pretty packed. But we found a table. The service was awesome and the food was delicious. They have a great selection of beers! Way to make our trip even more of a good time!
