Three of us had an excellent lunch yesterday, Feb. 27, extremely reasonable and plentiful. This cafe is a lovely and airy dining area. All personnel were extremely pleasant. Serving hours are now 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Good place for breakfasts in the student's cafeteria at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, although we prefer the selected menus offered in some evenings at very reasonable price.

Great spot for lunch downtown. The bonus is students are learning to cook and serve guests. Menu varies week by week with different regional cuisines. If you follow them on Facebook they post the daily menu too. There's a hot food line, salad bar, to-go food and drinks, cookies and muffins, and produce from the Food Innovation Center.

Grrrrreat food- and a price that fits into the budget nicely! not sure i could have made it myself for the same price... and i'm sure i couldn't have made it taste so good (+;

The food and prices are outstanding!! I’ve been here several times now, and it’s always a great experience. It’s such an excellent thing for the culinary students to run. It’s quickly become one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch!

First, to the people who gave this low ratings...it is a cafe, not a 5 star restaurant. $13 for 2 "half plates" (one whole) & soup is legit at any cafe downtown. McDs is down the street if you are looking for a dollar menu. Anyhoo, Havirmill CAFE is run by KVCC students & great for a quick bite in the morning. They have a small, by the lb breakfast buffet, a "to go" case with locally made products, & fresh pastry display. For $5, I had a yummy, fast breakfast that included a bottle of Naked juice, smoked sausage links, hash browns, and a biscuit sandwich with egg and smoked Gouda. The eggs needed a little something, but the biscuit was light and fluffy. The cashier was friendly. Everything was very clean. The dining area has a nice open layout & there is plenty of seating. The plates & plastic ware were compostable, which is awesome. I will be back again when short on time & needing a cheap break. If you are looking for 5 star restaurant, this is not it. But, the students have done a nice job with this cafe. Solid 3 star establishment.
