My wife and I come here every time we visit our son at WMU. It is a fun atmosphere, and even when it is busy, it is not crazy and there are plenty of places to sit or hang out. We have only seen the stock market crash once, but still, the concept is fun and we typically try a few different taps. This will be s pot we continue to visit in K-Zoo. We have never tried the food, but it looks good!

This is definitely a bar, not a restaurant. The food was good. The staff was awesome. It’s pretty loud., so conversation is tough. It’s also very odd that you can’t taste any of their beers without buying a 6 ounce glass. I wouldn’t mind paying for taste, but it seems reasonable for them to create “Flight” of three or four for 10 or 12 box. Although you would be getting the same quantity in the end, you at least get to try different things.

A Kalamazoo staple has fallen, under new management. No more nice dinner, no more nice cocktails. The beer exchange used to be dual threat where you can have a nice dinner and have a good time afterwards, no more. Kitchen is dirty, music is too loud to hear your food order when it’s ready. Staff is under trained, burger was burnt and dry. The fries were ok but I didn’t order them, and they included quite a bit of batter bits from fried chicken and fish.

This place is amazing! Such a fun time and a great vibe. The people running the show here are running a tight ship. Jade is absolutely the best bartender in all of Kalamazoo. If you get lucky enough to go there on a night that Jade is behind the bar be sure to have her make you a martini. You can tell that she cares about providing the best customer service possible. I went to a few different bars and this by far was the most fun we had while we were out and the best customer service. Not sure if it would have been the same experience without Jade but she deserves to own the place. The way she cares you would actually think she is the owner. Great food, great beer, great martinis and great service. Such an interesting place. Thank you Jade for treating us like friends and helping finish our trip on such a high note. I am genuinely impressed by this place and would highly recommend it to everyone that goes to Kalamazoo.

I will keep my review as a five star since this place is a favorite of my wife and I. However, i will say that we have been disappointed that every time we have stopped by this Summer we have been met with a sign that the main bar and restaurant are closed. We Hope this is temporary. We would rather sit upstairs then sit at a bar next to pool tables, video games and pinball machines. Owners of KBE, please let us know what is up. All of your patrons want to support you.

Y’all need to save this institution in Kalamazoo. Food is good, always got great beers and you can’t beat the excitement about playing the market when it opens! Keep it alive!
Return trip after 5 years. Max was awesome. I had the Italian Grilled Cheese and home made chips. WOW! Super combination!! Love the variety of beers and the whole exchange idea. Unique and fun! The market didn’t crash while I was there but there is hope for next time!

My daughter and I came here before a speaker at Miller Auditorium. We ordered the Nachos, Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries, and the absolutely delicious Potato Croquettes. The food was delicious. Would definitely recommend. We each had a drink and enjoyed watching the start of the beer market. Fun atmosphere, good food, and even though the bartender was working alone, she was fast and accurate.
