This is a hidden Kalamazoo gem near a scenic pond that is perfect for a romantic getaway. The service and food were excellent. The carpaccio is mouth watering, the beet salad is refreshing and the orecchiette was seasoned perfectly. Definitely will come back for another memorable meal!

I wanted to take my husband out for a special occasion. I had planned this for some time. We arrived to find a sign on the door saying the place was completely closed today for a 'private event'. No where was this mentioned - not on Google (owners can do updates ) not on their website. This is extremely rude. We stayed in the parking lot for awhile looking for another place to go and saw car after car come in, read the sign and leave. You lost many customers today and due to your lack of care for the general public. By not posting this at least a week in advance you've lost some of these customers permanently. I hope your private event was worth it.

Very nice place for the price the food was perfect. Just wish they had a blackened chicken Alfredo dinner.

Had a great experience here! The ambience was lovely, and the overall vibe made for an enjoyable visit. As a vegetarian, I was happy to find a few standout options on the menu. I asked for the crispy Brussels sprouts to be made vegetarian, and they turned out pretty good. The star of the meal, though, was the risotto—absolutely delicious and easily my favorite!

I have been going to Martelles as a regular for over 2 years now and I’ve always loved my experience with the dinning in the garden outdoors. However, the manager Kate was extremely rude. I have always been able to make small modifications to the pizzas and I was requesting at the time to Lindsey who was amazing and gave customer service the request of a modification. The manager Kate interrupted my order and stated that there is no modifications allowed with the pizzas. From my understanding, the company is a “yestaurant” and she was the opposite of saying yes or including a simple modification. Kate not only was rude to us as customers but also dressed unprofessionally. She was wearing a bright pink jumpsuit and a white t-shirt. Being in management myself, dressing professional is a priority by making sure you present yourself well for your company. Megan was an amazing food runner and had great customer service along with the bartender Lindsey! I am however disappointed in the leadership above them that is supposed to be the one to say yes to the customer for a simple modification.

Martell’s has a wide array of options, however I came here to highlight the mushroom soup. All I want is SOUP! 🤩 It’s neat that they utilize West Michigan Pasta & Provision’s in their pasta entrees, as this man is often at the farmers market - bonus points for emphasizing sustainable sourcing! 🧑‍🍳 Proud to support this long standing establishment. 🥰

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here as we were looking for a nice restaurant that we hadn't been to yet. We highly recommend the Mushroom Soup, Prime Rib and Chocolate Torte. Service was cheerful and we didn't feel rushed. We really enjoyed the window table view overlooking the nearby pond.

On the risotto, I wish all the ingredients were listed, since I have so e food sensitivities, but the food was hot, the portions were good, and the waitress did well, considering we had a large party. The ample windows overlooked a beautiful landscape, including a body of water.

The beef ravioli and pork milanese were both a little on the dry side but the flavor on both were on point. We sat outside which was a lovely atmosphere. Had great service with Carlos.

Generally the food here is very good, however the take-out experience leaves much to be desired. This is the third take out order from them that has shorted us a couple of items or given us incorrect items. Yes I know, shame on me for not checking the order more carefully before leaving, but is that really the customer’s responsibility? Is accuracy of an order too much to expect? Apparently so.

Beautiful setting for that special dinner date! Food was served hot and cooked to perfection! Service was incredible by the staff and we were able to enjoy our meal and not feel rushed. Dessert was exactly the right amount of sweet and savory. Will be returning again soon! Very happy customer.
