Overpriced for what you get. Plates were not balanced when they were presented.

My go-to place to enjoy a fine meal . . . either alone or with a special person. I've been going here for years. It's always consistent. The menu is full of imaginative offerings, all tasty and plated to perfection. The drinks are expertly mixed and the wine list is substantial. I will always eat here when I'm in Kalamazoo.
Great food, chill atmosphere and in a neat downtown ish part of Kalamazoo. Yes it’s a bit pricy but it’s worth every penny! At the very least it’s a good once in a while date night place!

The heirloom tomato salad was one of the best things I ate this summer. The cabbage salad and pastas also were delicious and substantial. The pacing was perfect. The restaurant is attractive and not noisy (although all tables were full. The service was attentive and relaxed. I will go back the next time I am in Kalamazoo.
Rustica is a great restaurant. We are from Chicago, and Rustica rivals any Chicago restaurant in terms of deliciousness, freshness and originality of preparation. We passed through Kalamazoo coming and going on a one week vacation and ate at Rustica both nights we were in Kalamazoo. Grilled romaine salad, heirloom tomato salad, ricotta gnocchi, Faroe island salmon, bouillabaisse, barramundi special, coconut cake, callebaut chocolate brownie — all really delicious. My wife has had gnocchi dozens of times, and she said this was the best gnocchi dish she has ever had. If we lived in Kalamazoo this would be a regular spot for us.

Since mid August, I’d say my family, friends scattered in, have been here three or four times. Loved it, each and every time. The muscles are amazing, as is the combo charcuterie board. Blistered pole beans were/are excellent. Dirty Martini is perfect. Let’s see, our family and friends have enjoyed various entrees, such as the duck, steak, salmon, rigatoni, seafood spaghetti, and a few I’m forgetting. Service has been excellent. We always have what we need, or want… This is definitely our type of place.
Always a great experience
Fun atmosphere, great food, attentive service, on the pricey side, not a ton of menu choices. The gnocchi, lamb, and cheese plate were all great.

First time dinning at Rustica and I was not impressed. I had the Scottish salmon/potato and a small amount of leaks. Salmon was bland and the potatoes the same, did not have any spices on it to make the dish. It also was a smaller meal, for the $$$ that was charged it should of been larger. I had other local restaurants Salmon dishes that don't compare to this. I think you would be better off spending your money somewhere that can make a Scottish Salmon dish with some taste and cost less.
Atmosphere, Service, and Food were all exceptional. Enjoyed the Lamb Bolognese and the Flank Steak . Very good cocktail menu. Will gladly return any chance we get
Great food and excellent wait staff.

I’ve been here multiple times and wanted to take my mom here for a special occasion. I’m rating the menu based on my husband who is an executive chef. We were very disappointed with the server Courtney with the nose ring. We were nothing but kind to her and her attitude was rude the whole entire night. We came in with a positive family get together attitude and she ruined the atmosphere of our dinner. She was only nice when she gave us the check.
The olive oil that was served with the bread was terrible. It tasted cheap like it was bulk from Costco. Some of the mussels we ordered were spoiled, they tasted like horse manure. The scallops were amazing. The main courses were very disappointing. Honestly Roca has a way better duck breast on their menu which is what I ordered and it’s right across the street. The loaf with white sauce was spoiled and clashed with the duck and cherries. The rigatoni was watery. The mushroom forroto had too strong of what tasted like a red wine sauce. The taste was strong and off, very soupy. The only good thing about my dinner here was the wine selection and the bottle of Cabernet that we got. You would think they would have a white sauce pasta on their menu.
Loved the scallops and spinach risotto.
