It's been 20 years since I ate Steak N Shake since moving from Cali. It was a childhood memory of eating this. I was so excited to finally get my hands on this. I took the usual drive through method with 4 cars ahead of me so I assumed it would be 10 minutes max. Turned out to be 30 minutes in which I was irritated already. Finally made my way to make my order in which I ordered a steakburger with grilled onions instead of raw. They said it will be a 90 cent surcharge. I spent 90 cent alone wasting 30 minutes of gas waiting to place an order. Anyways I finally decided to pull over to feast my hands on what I've been waiting for, for 20 years. You would think waiting 30 minutes the food would be freshly made and hot. Not only wasn't it not hot, the fries were salty and the burger was a huge disappointment on what I remembered it to be. Sorry to say I will never return to a Steak N Shake again. In today's world their is too much competition to be delivering subpar service and burgers like this. To me this burger's flavor is not how I remembered it. I found a new burger chain that has stole my heart. I tried Culvers for the first time 3 days ago and Ive been thinking about it ever since. Culver's burgers pack not only flavor to their food but above and beyond service and yes Culver's does not charge extra for grilled onions if you want it replaced with raw onions.
