My son has a great technique of choosing the Yelp top-rated inexpensive local business nearby when we travel, no matter what it is. That is how he found this Tamale kitchen, and boy, am I glad he did! I would have driven right by it otherwise, but now it is on our must-do list when in Kalamazoo. Excellent Tamales, and the staff is so friendly. When I mentioned that we would come again by the next day before leaving town, they said they would be closed, but took down our number in case they were cooking that day and would be able to pack some up for our travels if we passed by - and they did! What service!

Tamales are very tasty. Don't be deterred by the outside cosmetics of this family owned business. I recommend it to anyone who loves some Mexican cuisine!

Came to try their tamales for the first time and it was soooo goooddd!!! The best tamales we have ever had! Filling and masa ratio was very proportional, tasty and their green sauce was a spicy, tangy and refreshing! I wish we found this place a little sooner! Will be back for the tamales, both chicken and pork are very delicious and perfect size! A Mom and Pop place runs by a very nice couple, very down to earth and hardworking. Love them!

I stopped here last Thursday to pick up a half dozen tamales to take home. Just so I would not attack them while I drove home, I ordered a three tamale meal. I bought two pork and two chicken. They were delicious. They have a small menu, so it won't take me long to get through it. I plan on making this a stop every Thursday since I'm in the area. I just wish I could stop on a Monday or Friday to get tacos. Can't wait to go back.

What a delicious treat! We were in Kalamazoo looking for something to eat and we stumbled upon this place! Great food! Great people! Staff went above and beyond to make it a great experience. Food was amazing as well- tamales, tacos, rice, and corn all delicious!

I don't know what some of the people on here are talking about, these tamales are freaking delicious. Every time I'm in Kalamazoo I get some of these to go.

We went to get tamales and they were out so we decided to order something else on their menu, corn in a cup. It was not good. It seemed like it was probably reheated and did not taste fresh. The flavor was very bland. There was no lemon juice or cojita cheese in it. It seemed to have miracle whip, chili powder and corn. Lastly, the presentation was just awful. It was served just like in the picture. Nothing to keep it warm so it got cold fast. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the corn. We were not able to taste the tamales so that is why I'm giving it a 2 star.

My godfather is from Guadalajara, Mexico. I grew up going to his home for Christmas eve celebrations. His elderly mother, wife, and daughters would make the most amazing tamales every year. I've yearned for that flavor since those holidays. Thankfully, I found it in the pork tamales at the Tamale Kitchen. The masa was flavorful, delicious, and the perfect texture. The pork inside had good seasoning and was moist. The red sauce for dipping was delicious - not too spicy, but not too mild. Perfect for me. I had them yesterday and we've already decided that we will be getting a dozen for dinner on Saturday. So yummy. Plus, the man that waited on me at the drive through was kind and personable. I'll be back!

On a random Tuesday I was driving down Sprinkle to visit my grandfather and noticed this place. On the way back home I decided to stop because my wife loves tamales and misses home (she's from Southern California). I got a dozen tamales. They were amazing. The guys there were friendly and clearly care about their craft and it shows in the quality of the product. Every time I'm on Sprinkle rd I will be stopping in. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Today, I tried Tamale Kitchen for the first time. I've watched it since it opened and finally got around to trying this gem of a take out spot. The tamales were delicious as one would expect from a place with Tamale in their name. I had the 2 tamale lunch which came with rice and beans which were both very good as well. Best of all everything was so hot it was streaming. I will definitely be visiting her for lunch again!

Why did I wait so long to try this place? Great tamales, tried the chicken and pork. Will definitely be back again!

Decided to try this place out during the stay home stay safe, because of two reasons. 1. I love tamales and 2. Let's support locale businesses. What a great choice! The food was amazing, both the pork and the chicken were equally as good. The staff was nice and friendly on the phone when we ordered as well as when we picked it up through the window. Highly recommend!

Legit, authentic tamales. The best tamales in Kalamazoo, hands down, now questions asked. The best tamales you'll find in SW Michigan. Hell, you probably couldn't find better tamales in Mexico. Real deal, no questions asked, 100% awesome.
