Victorian Bakery is the kind of place that makes you fall in love with real baking all over again. From the moment you step through the door, you’re surrounded by the comforting scent of fresh bread, butter, and sugar it’s impossible not to smile. The atmosphere feels like something out of a storybook: cozy, charming, and filled with the soft hum of happy customers choosing their favorite pastries.

What sets Victorian Bakery apart is how authentic everything feels. Their scones are absolutely divine tender, buttery, and perfectly crumbly, with just the right amount of sweetness. Paired with a bit of jam or clotted cream, they could rival anything you’d find in an English tearoom. The croissants are another standout: flaky layers that shatter lightly when you bite in, revealing a soft, buttery interior. You can taste the care and patience that goes into each one.

“Everything was tasted great (so grateful that all the items had low amount of sugar which is very rare when it comes to American sweets)… If you’re looking to buy some unique items then this place is a must visit.”

The Victorian Bakery is a sweet little spot with really friendly service and a nice variety of baked goods. The people inside are welcoming, and everything I’ve tried here has been fresh and tasty. It’s conveniently right by the Amtrak station, which makes it easy to swing by if you’re traveling through.

The only downside is the location - it’s right next to the train tracks, and the surrounding area can feel a bit rough with some not-so-great vibes and homeless people hanging around. I honestly wish this bakery was tucked into a cozier neighborhood, because it really deserves it.

That being said, the bakery itself is wonderful. Great baked goods, great people, and worth a visit if you’re nearby.

I went there for the first time since I came to Kalamazoo (in 2019). They do not advertise much so this place is easy to overlook. But it was a great decision to visit the place. Everything tasted great (so grateful that all the items had low amount of sugar which is very rare when it comes to American sweets) and very unique. I don’t think any other bakery in Kalamazoo bake as much items as they do.
If you are looking to buy some unique items, this place is a must visit.
They have coffee but sadly no place to sit inside and eat.

This is the best bakery in Kalamazoo by far. There is not a bad thing in the store. My favorite, by far, is their chocolate croissant. Their croissants rival anything i've had from the best shops in NYC. It's a must stop for me every couple of weeks. Shop here. You will not regret it.
