The food here is a ten and has been for a long time. Service can be slow but only when the place is packed, place needs an update but is a very solid choice for takeout. Bring your food next door to Horrocks and have a great time.

Great food! Great service! I’ve been dining here over 2 years now and I love them over at Tokyo. Food is always hot and available. If something isn’t there you ask and it’s probably on the way out already! Great price for buffet. Just about 35$ 2 dine in buffet with waters to drink! Show them some love you won’t regret it!

A bit pricey, but tasty and fresh! My go-to is salmon, and theirs was great. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive to our group of 7.

Chill level for vibes. Food was very delicious, they take small reservations for group. I would come back. Good service with water and food. Was little slow starting. Has a bar seating.

First of all we had great service! We started with the Manhattan Roll and it was excellent. We then had the Tempura U-Don and it was fantastic. This restaurant is the place to go!

Overall enjoyable meal. I think one of our servers was new and still learning the ropes. Food was good.

Our clearly frazzled server not only forgot one of my daughter’s ordered items, she forgot to put my entire lunch order in. After about 45 minutes, when the rest of my family was almost finished eating, she told us she forgot to put it in and that they were very busy (the restaurant wasn’t even half full) and that the kitchen was backed up but that it might be 5-10 minutes.

20 minutes later, no food (it was a rice bowl with tempura on top; an uncomplicated dish).

10 minutes after that, I asked to have to have it removed from the bill and to pay the check, because at this point we had been there over an hour and a half, only three of us had eaten, and we couldn’t spend the rest of our lives there.

She brought the check and my food in a to go box. I opened it to find the tempura and the rice thrown together, so that the rice was already making the tempura it was surrounding soggy. There was no sauce or the soup it supposedly came with. I signed the check, left no tip for the first time in maybe a decade, and left the unappetizing food on the table.

I don’t care how “backed up” your kitchen is - if one of your servers messes up this badly, you make that food immediately. It probably takes ten minutes to make tempura and toss it on top of rice. the server was very apologetic but the kitchen clearly didn’t care enough to get it out quickly or serve it properly.

I had cheez-its from our road trip snack bag for lunch.

Hibachi not cooked in front of you, but brought out prepared. Not much flavor. Clearly prepared in advance, so textures were off.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Grand rapids area and has been for at least the last 17 years. Consistent, delicious execution every time. Prefer to dine in but the take away holds up as well. We don't often get to eat out but Tokyo Grill is always in consideration when we do. I've tried much of the menu (not much of an octopus/squid person) and everything has been delicious. Great hibachi/udon/soba/tempura (have never been to Japan so take that into consideration). Lately I have been stuck on the katsu. All of them are fantastic but I really love the Tonkatsu! Every time it is fried perfectly with the panko crispy and the meat juicy and delicious. I consider the coleslaw to be what a coleslaw should be. Crisp and slightly sweet unlike the cloying sweetness of most. The portion is generous as well with it often being breakfast or lunch the next day. It holds up quite well in takeout out even the fridge with the breading holding an amazing texture and crunch. I'm not very much into fish, in fact about the only way i eat fish is sashimi or nigiri (I'm not a fan of the flavor the seaweed imparts in rolls). The Toro is what I consider perfect. Tender and flavorful excellent balance with the rice and prepared with the right amount of wasabi. Enough that you know it's there but not so much that it takes over the flavor of the nigiri. Service is always attentive without being intrusive. Price is quite fair and I would even consider it undervalued given the consistency of execution. Wish I were better with words to sing my praise of Tokyo Grill.

We love coming here but it seemed like the place especially the floor was so dirty. We’ve been coming for years and this was a first I’ve ever seen it like this. Made me sad. I hope they clean up their act.
