Dang, I really like this place because the beer and pizza and the space is good but the management is strange. They are always closing early and everytime I'm in there I get the feeling they would rather I just left. Telling people they have one minute to order or last call at 7:15. So strange and unwelcoming. Though this place is in walking distance of our house, we have tended to bring our business elsewhere.

Best bagels in town by far. Keep up the great work... I try to make it at least twice a week.

Good food but big city prices. Charging $2.25 for a cup of ranch and $3 for a cup of cheese is beyond ridiculous. Dinner and two drinks total was $70…

Stopped in last night, our second time there. If you want ports or stouts don't go they don't have any. Ordered two pizzas. One was great the other came out burnt on the bottom. Waitress never came back after delivering the pizzas. Never came back after all our drinks were empty. Took pizza inside to have a new one made for take home. Still nothing so I brought drinks in for a refill. Pizza was ready and we paid and went home. Late night Pizza snack, yay! Nope this one was slightly worse. Very disappointed in quality and service.

Don't miss this place! Whether you are in town for the day, or you are local, getting food and beer here is a MUST! Whether you have a bagel in the morning from The Bagelry, or get a pizza and beer in the evening, you won't be disappointed. Bagels are all fresh and baked by their staff who take 3 whole days to make a batch of bagels. Everything on the bagel sandwiches is fresh...REAL food My favorite is the Out East. The pizzas have their own brewed beer right in the crust. I have been eating their Chicken Caesar Pizza since they opened, and it's never disappointing. Everything they make, is made with quality and care. It's not on the main drag, but well worth the Google Maps entry to get you there!

Very good wood fired pizza and nice beer selection! Nice outdoor patio.

Best brewery stop of our road trip. Small and cosy, immaculately clean, and run with an attention to detail. That shows in the amazing pizza and big city quality beer. Unfortunately not dog friendly (MI laws).

in addition to the excellent pizza and tasty beer, Jessica, our waitress was awesome! I highly recommend 51st Brewery when in the area.

Great food, great beer! Thanks to the bartender for letting me know how to pronounce Kitich-ti-kEYE-PIE. ;)

Great food and great take out service. One of the very few places in the area we have discovered that had food and service worth returning to and recommending to others.

Both businesses at this establishment are good. The interesting flavors of the drinks and bagels in the morning and the ever-changing selection of pizzas in the evening keep you coming back. They are always good as is the service.

If Washington where to consider the Upper Peninsula as it’s 51st state again. I think all that 51st State Brewing Company would have to do is present a flight of beer and the pulled pork pizza to the council members making that decision.

Within their first bite they would detect that 51st Brewing Co. Has better pizza than 80% of Chicago, 90% of New York and 100% of California. There’s something about this place that makes it a no brainer for a sunny day. If only you could smoke outside and throw beers off the balcony.
But we are civilized! And after all we are trying to have another state here.

The beer here knocks most Denver Micro brews out of the park. In the sense of, each beer/cider is does respectively what it needs to. Get drank. The beer menu is short and to the point. The way I like most government interference.

Iron Mountain and Kingsford have this common theme where the smaller the dining venue the better the food. I rarely sit inside. But when I do I’m welcomed by an oven pizza experience and friendly staff.

Outside is truly where you want to be. It’s perfect for all beer drinkers and pizza enthusiasts. The margarita Pizza is delicate and packs potent flavors. As a personal preference protein junkie I recommend you add chicken.

If you are highly protein conscious then go for the pulled pork. But let’s be honest you’re here for a cheat day. So make it worth your while. Drink all the beer and eat all the pizza. Make sure you have a designated elastic set of pants for the day. Oh and a designated driver.

At the end of the day any council member would be surprised as to how flavorful this place is. I would trust 51st State Brewing Co. To help the Upper Peninsula become a new state. They make it an easy sell. Present Washington your best and bada bing bada boom we have federal money.
