Cute ice cream shop downtown near the park. Love the outdoor seating area with picnic tables. They offer GF, Vegan, and Dye-free options. Love the orange pineapple, which is "clean label."

Website advertised lots of dairy free options, including multiple ice cream flavors. When we got there they did not have the any dairy free ice cream.

Phenomenal place to go with kids. Park is in view, beautiful river to look at as well. Extremely friendly staff, owner is also very hands on and cares very much about the customers. Unique ice cream creations. Always a joy to come here! It’s our weekly go to spot for the kiddos. They have many activities to do as well.

Absolutely love Cookies and Cream!! Everything there is delicious and they have the greatest staff. Whether you want a shake, soft serve, cookies or hard scoop icecream it is all incredible. They have tons of options and even gluten free and vegan options! Everyone can enjoy something scrumptious here!

This is by far the best Ice cream shop I’ve ever been to! Plenty of options to choose from including non dairy options. The staff are extremely polite and nice. They have games and a great outdoor seating area. I’d give 10 stars outta 5 if they would let me.

Love the local ice cream shop downtown! Delicious ice cream, rotating flavors, TONS of parking, next to a park and paint creek trail. We like to reward our bike ride with some ice cream. ? Employees are so nice and helpful too.

Love this place!! Great variety of flavors of ice cream, sundae's, shakes and soft serve. Something for everyone, Near Paint creek trail and near all the downtown activities. Well away from the traffic on M 24. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Cookies and Cream is a favorite for myself and my partner on an evening out in downtown. The outdoor area is always cute and comfy, it's right next to the river and the park, and their treats are always amazing. I'm partial to their super-cow ice cream, and my partner is obsessed with their milkshakes. Definitely a go to for some awesome treats!

Amazing ice cream, served by a friendly team, in a welcoming, family-friendly setting within the heart of beautiful Lake Orion.
If you have kids, THIS is the premiere place to have an enjoyable ice cream experience. Not only is the ice cream high quality, Ray’s ice cream, the staff is super kind, courteous, and well trained, and the setting of Cookies & Cream is just ideal!!! Imagine taking your children out to get some ice cream, without having to worry about busy roads, or eating your ice cream in a parking lot, or your kids getting bored 1.2 seconds after they finish their ice cream…
This is what makes Cookies & Cream so remarkable!! With their big grassy space, they have a giant Connect Four game, cornhole and chalk art right next to clean picnic tables making it easy for parents to watch their children having fun (while having a chance to finish their own ice cream). And before or after ice cream, the whole family can enjoy the playground at Children’s park, watch the sunset over Lake Orion from the gazebo, or enjoy the wildlife of fish and ducks from the foot bridge spanning over Paint Creek.
Plus, here’s some insider secrets…
1. Tuesday night is Kid’s Night with guided activities for the kids.
2. Friday’s you’ll often find live music coming from the outdoor stage immediately adjacent to Cookies & Cream.
3. If parents would enjoy an adult beverage, there are plenty of options like Oat Soda, Wine Social, Bitter Tom’s and more that allow you to purchase and enjoy your open adult beverage throughout the entire surrounding area of Cookies & Cream and the downtown area!
Hands down, you won’t find a more complete/all-round enjoyable experience centered around delicious ice cream than Cookies & Cream in the heart of Downtown Lake Orion.
Oh, one more thing… Not an ice cream fan? Can’t have dairy, gluten, etc.? Well, Cookies & Cream is also home to the renowned Sprout Bake, which means there are tons of alternative treats to meet your specific dietary requirements (many of which you can take home for continued enjoyment beyond your visit)!
So, I can’t recommend Cookies & Cream enough! For my family, it’s our favorite place for summer ice cream, and we go at least once a week throughout the summer months!
Kid-friendliness: Pro-Tip #1: Tuesday night’s are kid’s night, and they have fun activities (crafts, art, games, etc.) planned for the kids.
Pro-Tip #2: The setting of Cookies & Cream is great for families, because there’s so much space for kids to run around, it’s away from busy streets, and it’s right next door to Children’s Park where kids can burn off that sugar before going home.
