Historical building and atmosphere. Really good soup, and the salad was fresh. Great homemade ranch. My husband started his air tour from the airport over 20yr. ago. We enjoyed our lunch, it was busy but was well served.

Went here on a Friday around 6:00pm with a party of 3. No wait to be seated. I had the prime rib special with a baked potato and salad and it was honestly one of the best I'd had in a long time. It was a 10 ounce special for $29.95 which I thought was fairly price for all that came with it. Came out medium rare just as I requested and it was a little bigger than advertised which was great. The other two in my party each had burgers and fries which were cooked exactly as requested, both said they were delicious. I have to say, the fries they served were great and much better than the type I used to see here a couple years ago. I can't remember our servers name but she was outstanding. She had a great sense of humor and took great care of us making sure we're good to go and always kept our drinks refilled. The place might be a little beaten down but it was clean and accommodating. I was happy to hear they opened up again even if the hours are a bit abbreviated and the menu is slimmed down but I'd go back. These days eating out for me is a treat and only happens once a month and I'm happy with this experience and would definitely go back.

I love this place. Steaks are the very best in town along with the white burrito. Limited beers selection, but the food is fantastic. Service and white staff great

We each ordered the wet burrito special. He said his had a decent amount of beef, but mine certainly did not. I honestly thought they forgot it at first. I finally found a sprinkling mixed in with the beans. Even getting beyond that, there was absolutely nothing special about these burritos. They were very bland and boring.
The restaurant was FREEZING. The thermostat said 74 but it was right next to a heat lamp. I went out to my car to get a hoodie and realized I didn't have one. 😡 I finally broke down and asked if they had any for sale. She initially said no, but then someone found some.... For $45 each. #1 I'm not paying $45 for a hoodie. #2 especially not when it's because their restaurant is cold. #3 expecting me to pay that price to advertise their business is wild. Even at $35 I probably would have done it... $45? No. Another table came in after us and they were also complaining about the cold. It's also quite dingy. I get that for the bar section, but I would think they could spruce up the back dining area a bit.
Our server was great. Unfortunately, that was about the only good part. We agreed this was probably our last visit.

Okay, where to start?! The menu I see online is not the new menu. Menu prices are quite a bit higher on the new menu than they are on the old menu.Dirty. Dark. My tab was $80 for three people. I’m not sure why they call it a steakhouse when they serve two steaks. That is it just two to choose from and they do not season them. I got The sizzler. No seasoning whatsoever ended up giving it to my son. Very bland. My husband’s fish was not fresh. It was definitely frozen. Will not be returning for sure.

They make an excellent mushroom and Swiss burger and the staff is always super attentive and friendly! This has been a regular spot for my partner and I since we moved to Lansing.

Kind of a long story but it is meant to be told.

So my dad Alan loved getting steak dinner at Airport Tavern, and after the first time we brought him, he never stopped talking about it, I think he even dreamed about it. Haha..

Then the recent temporary closer happen & he was the sadest man, however when you opened back up and he was so excited and couldnt wait to go out for a steak again! Shortly after his health started to decline and became difficult to go out for dinner. We spent thanksgiving in the hospital, a week later we received news his body was failing and moved him to my brother's home in Charlotte.
As we prepared we realized 6th of December was my father & step-mother 49th wedding anniversary, and sadly there would not be a 50th celebration.

So my brothers & I gathered up flowers, candles and setting up a romantic last anniversary to make the night as special as we could. I called Airport Tavern and talked to the bartender (I think the owners son) and explained the situation and asked for a pick up of a special steak dinner for 2. He said we'll have it ready in 15 min! I drove straight there from work and it was all ready to go to deliver to Charlotte, MI.

My dad was so excited he cried. In fact we all cried. The steaks were the biggest and most beautiful dinners I have ever seen from Airport Tavern! This was his & their last dinner. A very joyful 49th anniversary which I cannot thank Airport Tavern enough for helping us make this happen, it truly filled our hearts!
I haven't been able to write about it until now, 4 months later, but I never forgot about what you did to help make my dad's last days happy ones.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 💕💕💕💕💕
