“My husband and I have been going to The Ocean Crab for over a year now. We’ve never had a bad experience there. The staff is friendly, the food is always delicious, and they just added to their menu which was also amazing. We tried the Tonkatsu Ramen and it was amazing! The pork roll was perfectly cooked, there were plenty of vegetables nestled into mix, and the broth was rich and felt like comfort in a bowl. If you’re looking for a really good seafood/Asian/Cajun mix of food, this is where you should go!”

They have a mug club that they partnered with the pottery place next door. The beers were delicious and we really enjoyed ourselves. They participate in hop passport so it's a great deal. They also participate in tagabrew. So we grabbed a couple tags and were on our way to the next stop!”

EagleMonk Pub and Brewery 4906 W Mt Hope Hwy, Lansing Brewery • $$
4906 W Mt Hope Hwy, Lansing

“We are from out of town and here for a tournament and needed a place that would hold about 20 people. They said they had a back room so we went. When we pulled up my heart sank a little. The place is not at all what we expected. I felt like it was moldy smelling when we walked in but someone we were with said it was probably the smell of the beer making process so i can't confirm or deny that information. Most of the teens did not love their pizza but the adults thought it was fine. The paninis were decent and the spinach artichoke dip was good. If we ever came back to this area i would basically just come for their house made beers and ciders. They were excellent. The mixed berry cider was not sweet at all and I really enjoyed it. Their homemade soda was great too. My kids mixed the cream soda and orange to make a creamsicle. That was delicious. Service was good and they checked up on us even though you order from a counter so that was nice.”

SPUDS Restaurant and Greek Pastry Shop 611 S Waverly Rd, Lansing Family • $$
611 S Waverly Rd, Lansing

“I went here with a group of maybe 12 and they were great at accommodating a group of our size. The food was what you'd expect from a breakfast diner: a variety of savory egg based options and then the sweeter side with pancakes/waffles, french toast, etc. I shared two dishes with my partner: the Greek omelette and the stuffed cakes. We got the larger order of the cakes (3), and I was happy to have only half of the stuffed cakes because they are more like dessert for breakfast (oh so good with whipped cream and all). That said, it would have been a bit much for me even after I had been on a 5 day bike ride. The omelette was great and the coffee refills kept flowing consistently.Would definitely go back!”

“New place in town and it has a great ambience utilizing the old train carriage. The food was good but really depends on what you were ordering. My wife's breakfast taco was exceptional while my sandwich was mediocre at best. It was really busy when we went and that could be a reason. The drinks were good but wish that they had more beers available. Will try again in a few months to see if things have changed/improved. Would still recommend as the staff is really friendly and caring.”

The seasonal cocktail sampler is such a great offering; I have so much fun getting to try four fantastic cocktails, and I come back for the new sampler every season. I also love the relaxed atmosphere. I, for one, am so glad that there aren't tvs. That would ruin the atmosphere, and I don't want to contend with the sports crowds. “I want to give a HUGE thank you to Andrea (I hope I spelled your name right!) . My son turned 11 today and on a whim I asked in the prompt for them to write something down on the box because he wanted a Hawaiian pizza for his birthday dinner. She went above and beyond and made it extra special; when he walked in the door to get his pizza everyone there wished him a happy birthday, she decorated his box with his name and a special birthday message, and really did more than I expected and made his night. It's the little things that count, and you guys made a core memory that he told people about the entire night. Thank you so much for putting in that extra to make him feel special.”

Red Lobster FRANDOR MALL, 3130 E Saginaw St, Lansing Seafood • $$
FRANDOR MALL, 3130 E Saginaw St, Lansing

“**update 04/24 - Had a difficult visit yesterday. Cleanliness is the issue. The carpet was strewn with detritus, our table had two big smears of grossness, the wall adjacent to the table was just covered with splotches of who-knows-what, the little biscuit plates might not have been washed at all with crumbs and grease on them, my drink glass was visibly dirty - and you could feel a good layer of greasy muck on it, even the windows were dirty. Our server did a good job, though she really should've noticed the unclean plates and such. I would've talked to the manager lady about all the dirt, but she didn't stop by our table. Oh, and my fried fish wasn't cooked well - rubbery/chewy instead of flaky.**Original review - Hey, it's Red Lobster. This one is pretty clean. Never had a problem with service at this location. They get super busy, but they have way more tables than parking spaces, so go ahead and park by JoAnn Fabric - they might still be able to seat you without a wait.During this visit, our biscuits were slightly underdone, but my daughter loved her steak and my shrimp. Like I said, it's Red Lobster. You should know what to expect as far as food goes. If I was smart and had a larger disposable income, I would just get the crab legs every time; king if they have them. Mmmm.”
