“My husband and I just celebrated my birthday dinner there this evening. We both must say it is an extraordinary restaurant with the best steaks we have had in the Lansing area. All the sides were fantastic as well! Service was exceptional and they are all so kind. We highly recommend this place!!”

“What a pleasant stay! My room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the service of each staff member I interacted with was fantastic. Although I wish the TV in my room was equipped with streaming capabilities, it was a large screen with good picture quality. The junior suite's sectional couch and wet bar make it feel like home, and the hotel's proximity to the Capitol and local food and entertainment was everything I needed. I'll certainly stay again, when in town!”

The space is bright and welcoming, the baristas have always been friendly and helpful, and the staff has been very accommodating of my service dog and I. They even asked and provided him with a pup cup during our last visit! (To be clear, they are not a pet friendly business and only allow service animals per the ADA.) I typically order tea, though they have a nice selection of coffees and pastries as well. My only critique is that I wish they had more cozy, lounge-type seating, since right now they have mostly desks (although with plenty of outlets for online work). We've been here a few times already since they opened the Okemos location and will continue to visit often!”

“Finding fried vegan donuts can be nearly impossible. Therefore, I have to stop at Strange Matter every time I’m in Lansing. Almost all of their pastries are vegan. My non-vegan friends love their donuts too. They also sell vegan scones and pop tarts. I’ve enjoyed every donut I’ve had from there, but I recommend the blueberry, the Boston cream (pictured) and the sugar cookie (pictured, seasonal). The sugar cookie donut tastes like what Starbucks thinks a sugar cookie tastes like (I mean this positively. It’s one of the best donuts I’ve ever had). Their savory everything donut filled with vegan cream cheese is also amazing. For coffee, they have oat milk and almond milk. I’m not a proficient judge of coffee, but the oat milk sugar cookie latte I got was good. I do wish they had soy milk as an option. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-16”

I've worked in restaurants for about 10 years now and I know things can get frustrating during dinner rushes. But being the owner of the restaurant and treating your employees so poorly while you have customers trying to eat isn't ideal. I watched this guy yell at all his cooks and servers. Also was rude to a server about a chair when they didn't know said chair wasn't allowed in the outside seating area. I really hope this manager takes the extra steps to pull people aside and be discreet when addressing something instead of causing a scene like we saw tonight. Other then that, we enjoyed this restaurant and the food!”

She approached me asking for directions to the bakery and said that she wanted to gobble the frosting and said that she no longer dislikes frosting as long as it is from Cakes A Bloomin. “The best Indian restaurant in the Lansing area!

I got to enjoy this place twice in one week, once with my family, and another time with my girlfriend and some friends, and everyone left full and happy.

The first time I had the curry goat, and the second time I had the lamb rogan josh. Both were absolutely outstanding and perfectly cooked, and the portions were quite generous. My girlfriend had the aloo gobi which had a deep rich flavor without being overly heavy with sauce. The gobi manchurian appetizer was also to die for!

The food is high quality and incredibly well seasoned, not just with generic spice mixes. I am also a big fan of spicy food and was pleasantly surprised at how strong the 'Indian spicy' level was. But they were also able to make food medium or mild according to each guests tastes, without sacrificing overall flavor.

The servers are incredibly friendly, and not overbearing at all which is a hard balance to strike. I loved the lighting inside and also was very happy to see that you could also get alcoholic drinks with our meal, which you don't usually see in local Indian places.

Everyone should check this place out. It's great if you're already a fan of Indian food, and also the perfect place to take people who wish to try it for the first time. I can't wait to go back again.”

I have never had to raise my voice to be heard by my table mates. This is truly one of my favorite spots!
