“Staying in the town for a short term. This place is my go to for food. The taste is very good as comapred to other places. Naan bread is soft. I have tried different curries like lamb karahi, chicken madras and paneer tikka masala. All are delicious. I have also tried their fried rice and rice pudding. Recommended 100%“

“Me and my dad got there a few minutes before they opened on a really cold day. The manager with a nice smile saw us through the window and let us come in and warm up with some hot drinks. So amazing service and atmosphere.
But of course most important: the food was great. I even got another entree to go at the end, since the tandoori chicken was so good, I had to try something else too.“
“We have been to many Indian restaurants. This was up with the best we've had. True Indian cuisine. Michigan State has 50000+ on-campus students, multiply that by family and friends, and if some of you visitors seek authentic Indian food try Swagath. \nIf You E. Lansing Swagath owner/operator folks are checking your reviews, we really liked everything , but we suggest you find an interior advisor (e.g. some where around MSU, and change your lighting). Make yuor dining area warmer. It didn't bother us; we just notice that kind of thing. Thanks for the great meal.“

“The best Indian restaurant in the Lansing area!
I got to enjoy this place twice in one week, once with my family, and another time with my girlfriend and some friends, and everyone left full and happy.
The first time I had the curry goat, and the second time I had the lamb rogan josh. Both were absolutely outstanding and perfectly cooked, and the portions were quite generous. My girlfriend had the aloo gobi which had a deep rich flavor without being overly heavy with sauce. The gobi manchurian appetizer was also to die for!
The food is high quality and incredibly well seasoned, not just with generic spice mixes. I am also a big fan of spicy food and was pleasantly surprised at how strong the 'Indian spicy' level was. But they were also able to make food medium or mild according to each guests tastes, without sacrificing overall flavor.
The servers are incredibly friendly, and not overbearing at all which is a hard balance to strike. I loved the lighting inside and also was very happy to see that you could also get alcoholic drinks with our meal, which you don't usually see in local Indian places.
Everyone should check this place out. It's great if you're already a fan of Indian food, and also the perfect place to take people who wish to try it for the first time. I can't wait to go back again.“
