“Lovely little coffee shop! I enjoy their Westside location and am so glad to have a spot on the Eastside that is more convenient for me. The space is bright and welcoming, the baristas have always been friendly and helpful, and the staff has been very accommodating of my service dog and I. They even asked and provided him with a pup cup during our last visit! (To be clear, they are not a pet friendly business and only allow service animals per the ADA.) I typically order tea, though they have a nice selection of coffees and pastries as well. My only critique is that I wish they had more cozy, lounge-type seating, since right now they have mostly desks (although with plenty of outlets for online work). We've been here a few times already since they opened the Okemos location and will continue to visit often!“

“My partner and I had never been to Hooked, but we came for a Euchre tournament. The owner Matt is so pleasant, and the employees are so kind and gracious. The coffee and food were delicious. “Finding fried vegan donuts can be nearly impossible. Therefore, I have to stop at Strange Matter every time I’m in Lansing. Almost all of their pastries are vegan. My non-vegan friends love their donuts too. They also sell vegan scones and pop tarts. I’ve enjoyed every donut I’ve had from there, but I recommend the blueberry, the Boston cream (pictured) and the sugar cookie (pictured, seasonal). The sugar cookie donut tastes like what Starbucks thinks a sugar cookie tastes like (I mean this positively. It’s one of the best donuts I’ve ever had). Their savory everything donut filled with vegan cream cheese is also amazing. For coffee, they have oat milk and almond milk. I’m not a proficient judge of coffee, but the oat milk sugar cookie latte I got was good. I do wish they had soy milk as an option. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-16“

“I always try to stop in here when I am in the West Lansing area. The atmosphere is always calm and peaceful, the staff always go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, and best of all the furniture is very, very comfortable! I tell everyone about them!“

“This location is shared with Tailgaters. So you get good coffee, donuts and the impressive wall of alcohol. Just about any liquor choice located there. Nice seating area in the back. Lots of parking for cars, RVs and Trucks. Also a Sunoco station located here.“

“They always go up and beyond to provide amazing customer service and tasty beverages. By far the best Starbucks in Lansing . Not to mention the Nitro brew at this location is always cold and crisp . “Very good stay, a well managed hotel. Very clean room. Friendly, accommodating staff. Beck on the front desk and Chief Engineer John Hazard were especially helpful. The hotel is walking distance from the State Capital buildings with convenient, attached parking and the ideal place to stay if you're doing going to the legislature. Lots of nearby bars and restaurants, walking distance. No need to drive, once you're there. I'll definitely be back.“

“Great assortment of both lunch and breakfast sandwiches, bakery items (donuts, bagels, croissants, TimBits (donut holes), etc). Fresh ingredients and easily customizable sandwiches. Everyone in my family prefers a different kind of bread for their sandwiches so we can make a sandwich work for everyone (one with a bagel, one on a croissant, etc).This is one of the few locations left in the area and it is a convenient place to stop. Right off the highway, attached to a gas station. Service was friendly.
