The service is always amazing. The baristas are incredibly helpful. Prince was working register and was really helpful with picking out a good option when I wanted to try something new. Additionally, even when the place is busy you get your order pretty quickly.
The drinks are always high quality. There's an amazing variety of options, and the cinnamon honey latte is great for these cold Michigan winters.
The pastries just can't be beat, with gluten free options if you have dietary restrictions. Plus, it's a great local chain if you want to move away from Starbucks.“

“Finding fried vegan donuts can be nearly impossible. Therefore, I have to stop at Strange Matter every time I’m in Lansing. Almost all of their pastries are vegan. My non-vegan friends love their donuts too. They also sell vegan scones and pop tarts. I’ve enjoyed every donut I’ve had from there, but I recommend the blueberry, the Boston cream (pictured) and the sugar cookie (pictured, seasonal). The sugar cookie donut tastes like what Starbucks thinks a sugar cookie tastes like (I mean this positively. It’s one of the best donuts I’ve ever had). Their savory everything donut filled with vegan cream cheese is also amazing. For coffee, they have oat milk and almond milk. I’m not a proficient judge of coffee, but the oat milk sugar cookie latte I got was good. I do wish they had soy milk as an option. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-16“

“My partner and I had never been to Hooked, but we came for a Euchre tournament. The owner Matt is so pleasant, and the employees are so kind and gracious. The coffee and food were delicious. “I've been to two locations to work remotely, 3 or 4 times each. Both locations are clean and bright and friendly. The coffee and tea selection is large, and the customer service is good. I'm vegan so there's only one food item I can get here, a traditional bread with seeds and spices on it, which was delicious, but I don't remember the name. The staff warmed it up with oil rather than butter for me, and we talked about halal versus vegan (it was a slow day and no one was waiting). I thought most people know what veganism is (not eating any animal products at all) and from what I learned, halal is a specific practice of raising and slaughtering animals in an ethical way, but definitely not the same thing :D I will come back for the coffee and tea, but consider offering more vegan food!“

“What a lovely visit! The atmosphere is very inviting. The many seating choices makes a morning wanderer wander no more. Bar stools, tables, cozy high back chairs, couches, they have options! I had a nitro alongside my books and journal. A few minutes later, a barista comes over with a new nitro & tells me they realized the one I had may have been flat. (They realized it moments later.) That is amazing customer service! Divinity was the cashier and one that offered me a new one. She was great from beginning to end, even mentioning that they make their own brown sugar syrup! It’s pleasant starting your day with yummy coffee paired with a smiling face and such a feel good bonus that she cared that I had the nitro at its best. I walked blocks on a chilly morning for this with zero regrets. THANK YOU :)“

“The Starbucks on the MSU campus is a fantastic spot for students, faculty, and visitors alike! The atmosphere is always welcoming and busy. I happen to be a visitor but the staff here are incredibly friendly and efficient, even during busy hours.

“The prices are a little higher than say Meijers, but in line I think with Kroger's. They have a great selection for most items, they are convenient to Williamston and they are improving the store and selections all the time. I think their sales are great. You can order online and pick up when convenient.“

“Very good stay, a well managed hotel. Very clean room. Friendly, accommodating staff. Beck on the front desk and Chief Engineer John Hazard were especially helpful. The hotel is walking distance from the State Capital buildings with convenient, attached parking and the ideal place to stay if you're doing going to the legislature. Lots of nearby bars and restaurants, walking distance. No need to drive, once you're there. I'll definitely be back.“
