“The food was delicious! Our 4-top had the Cacio de Pepe, Scottish Salmon, Tenderloin Tips with Pasta and Vegan Burger and a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. The service was perfect! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and an excellent wine steward! I look forward to returning!“
“After visiting for the first time a few weeks ago, I'm craving the chicken and waffles all the time...and the yams too! I didn't get to try the peach cobbler, but its next on my list. This is an OG Soul Food joint that can't be missed.“
“I went here with a group of maybe 12 and they were great at accommodating a group of our size. The food was what you'd expect from a breakfast diner: a variety of savory egg based options and then the sweeter side with pancakes/waffles, french toast, etc. I shared two dishes with my partner: the Greek omelette and the stuffed cakes. We got the larger order of the cakes (3), and I was happy to have only half of the stuffed cakes because they are more like dessert for breakfast (oh so good with whipped cream and all). That said, it would have been a bit much for me even after I had been on a 5 day bike ride. The omelette was great and the coffee refills kept flowing consistently.Would definitely go back!“
“Nice quick diner spot with excellent corned beef hash and decent bottomless coffee. Eggs were cooked exactly as ordered and it was all pretty tasty. The shredded cheese was cold and not melted which was a bit unappealing. Presentation overall could have been better too but the food was good.“
“Now, this is the first time I've eaten here! I've knocked the food two stars down to three because it just seems like more could have been done with it it actually was a quality product for that alone is why it gets three stars I think it could have been prepared and presented better. I knocked the service two stars not because it was bad service it was just not up to five stars or four as far as I'm concerned. The only reason I didn't give it five stars on the atmosphere it really wasn't that crowded, and it was still somewhat noisy place acoustically. I'm not sure why it's a little noisy in there, but it's a visually beautiful pleasing atmosphere. Is it cool little location down on the corner of Washington Square right down from the capitol. If you're in the area I'd give it a try if you're looking for something a little more fancy restaurant bar feel.Parking: Well, the reason I say it's someone difficult is because it depends on the time of the day you're going there and it's all street parking. you usually can get parking within a block when it is tougher times to find a place to park, Maybe sometimes you got to go two blocks. But most of the time, you usually can park within the block of the establishment you're heading for down in this Washington Square area.“
“Waits can be EXTREMELY long even with the call ahead option, we waited 2 HOURS after being told it’d be 20-30 mins from the first time we called and then when we were checking in we were told 15-20 mins, not bad that’s okay… well then we waited another 10 mins after the 20mins and asked again, the hostess rolled her eyes at me and said “20-25 minutes” que more waiting… and then after waiting for TWO HOURS we were finally sat, I understand it’s busy but Christ, foods awesome our waitress was awesome. The wait times are the only complaint.Parking: When it’s busy good luck finding anywhere near to park.“
“Service is always excellent, staff members are kind and attentive to dining needs. Joe is amazing and one of the best servers on staff. I tried the strawberry shortcake which was made by Peter. Amazing dish. The strawberry compote was fresh and the raspberry chocolate ganache was a perfect balance between sweet and tart and the entire dessert incorporated different textures of crunch and gooey. I would recommend to anyone and thank the staff for placing it on the menu!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options and chefs are cognizant of dietary restrictions and allergens.“
“Just had the best experience ever in the private event room for my daughter’s Sweet 16. The FieldHouse team took great care of us! I highly recommend hosting your next party/private event here. Such a good space in the heart of downtown EL!“
“The food has been great here. The burgers and sandwiches were great, and the appetizers were as well. The service, for the most part, has been excellent. The only semi bad experience was one time we went in to order appetizers and dessert and felt like we were treated less than. It was very off-putting, but not enough to turn us away. I definitely recommend coming here!“
“This is my ideal place to meet up with friends or get coffee while I shop in the bookstore. It is very cozy, friendly, and convenient. The food is always good. I am so glad that this place is open following the COVID pandemic. You can also be here alone while eating and, in the meantime, reading a book or magazine.“
“Went for brunch, the food was great (potato cakes are a must)! Their mimosas are really nice because juice and champagne come separately you get to DIY!! Highly recommend, my only complaint is that for how empty the restaurant was sat for 5+ minutes before anyone came over to us. Our waitress (Monica?) was not very attentive. Our drinks were never refilled.... we could see her chatting with coworkers at the host stand. She walked past multiple times without ever checking on us. For how slow the restaurant was I was unimpressed with our service, but the food and drinks made up for it. Would have left 5 stars if our service was better.“
“This is a lovely place! Unique menu items, great flavors, nice portions and great service. Went to another restaurant but they had water main issues so they recommended the soup spoon cafe. I fell in love. Went back again to take my boyfriend out to breakfast and I knew he wouldn’t be disappointed. I was right! He love it as well. No doubt, it will become a regular spot from now on!“
