Service was extremely slow. The restaurant was not busy - there was only one other table of people while we were there. The bartender/waiter took our drink orders and then prepared the drinks. I guess he decided all of the drinks had to come out at the same time. The first thing he did was to take beer out of the fridge and open it. Then, it sat there warming and going flat for, no kidding, 30 minutes while he made the other drinks. By the time the drinks were served, everyone at our table was commenting on why it took so long. The beer was warm. Then, for the food order, he brought out 2 dishes at a time. He did not serve everyone at once. By the time the last of our party of 8 was served, the first people in our group had finished eating. He then asked if we wanted dessert, but by then we were all just anxious to leave.
Atmosphere was cute, the service was drawn out, and took 53 minutes from ordering to serving, to get our food. The food was a fancy with exotic fruit. We watched 4 couples walk out during our wait. If you're not in a hurry and want to sip mimosas for a hour, this is your place. Don't plan on coming if you have a timeclock job. I highly recommend the servers being more prompt.

Please seems cool, server was very nice! But you have a better chance of training to make the lugnuts baseball team and completing spring tryouts before getting any food from this place. We waited 2 hours and STILL never even got our food, we ended up getting gift cards for a return. Others were in the same boat, I understand understaffing but a little heads up is ideal if going to take 1.5/2 hours + to get people food. Maybe try again if some changes are made.

Batter Up Bistro has a beautiful interior with a well-thought-out design and cozy atmosphere. We arrived close to closing time, and they mentioned that a large group had been there earlier, so they were out of some menu items, especially bread. While the food was flavorful, the potatoes weren’t fully cooked, and the heavy use of butter made everything feel overly greasy.
Another downside was the lack of service after our food arrived—no one came to check on us to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything. With better service and attention to food consistency, this place could be much better.

Food was excellent! We appreciated the all organic and fresh artisan bread. Service was so kind during a very busy Sunday brunch. Charming, old world mixed with modern aesthetic. Impressed and will be returning.
Kid-friendliness: Very much appreciated their kindness toward our two year old. Plenty of crayons and three plus pages of coloring books.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, everything in one level and independent bathroom very large.

Excellent gourmet food and drinks, and very pleasant, quiet atmosphere with no sports playing on TV monitors!
Lansing has a jewel here with Batter Up Bistro. Great food, service and ambiance. Our waiter, Alex, made our experience even better with his knowledge of the menu and sense of humor. We will be back!!
Food, atmosphere and service were good. But we waited an hour for our food. While we were there the owner left twice and both times returned with at least 4-6 bags of groceries from the Meijer across the street. Won't go back due to the ridiculously loing wait with no explanation. Eggs and bacon don't take over an hour to prepare.

Really cool atmosphere, I went at dinner time and it gave a sophisticated, relaxed, reading/sipping wine vibe. Really good for a late dinner or drinks in a casual but classy environment. Dinner menu is very small and food was average but I think they are more of a breakfast spot!

Love the atmosphere and food! This was my fourth time going to Batter Up Bistro to eat. The first time was truly amazing! The last three times they have run out of food and drinks ( Bloody Mary’s) despite the fact that their brunch menu indicates food and service from 9am until 3pm. Because of this, I have only actually eaten there 2 out of 4 times. I see an unfavorable pattern for customers.
I love this place!! My son took me here for a late breakfast. Menu is limited; the food 😋 is delish. We were served by a very nice young lady by the name of Dulce. There is a full bar as well. The drinks are good but expensive. I had a breakfast sandwich that was the best egg sandwich I've ever had. My son had Eggs Benedict and loved them. The ceiling is the old railway ceiling. Architecture old and stunning.
Excellent Chef

Had a reservation for 10 people (out of town) and confirmed. Showed up at the restaurant and was told we had to wait for table. Sat at the bar and was ignored to make a drink order. Had to ask for drink service and then told they were out of the alcohol needed to make the drink. Asked about getting seated after 15 minutes and was ignored. Finally got some drinks ordered but no compensation. Ended up leaving after 30 minutes without honoring reservations or offering to order food at the bar. Went down the street to another place. Total disappointment.

Quaint hidden gem in Lansing. Food was exceptional. Atmosphere was inviting and cozy. Limited menu, but excellent choices. Fantastic cocktails and Alex was a great server/bartender.
