Our Server, Rebecca, was very attentive to our needs even coordinating with the Chef about a dish prepared in the past! We came for the scallops and the were equally delicious! Chef went above and beyond! We highly recommend this restaurant for special memories!

My only experience thus far was during one their event buffets with two other people, but that day alone showed me that the food and atmosphere were not worth the price.

The prime rib and a few other dishes tasted okay but still cold and didn't have much flavor. The chicken was dry and lacked seasoning, while some other dishes were basic brunch items that anyone could make.

The service was nice and the staff was very friendly, but I would be too if I was expecting a 20% gratuity fee on top of getting about $70 for each person to stand up and fill their own plates. The waiter was very nice to cater to what we needed to drink or get our extra plates out of the way, but that and the food quality do not justify what we spent for just three people.

Service was fantastic! We went for our anniversary and they had a beautiful flower on our table. The whole experience was great!

My wife and I love it there. And Elliot makes it even better.

Some of the food was good, but the rest was about as mediocre as a chain restaurant. It seems overpriced for food that doesn’t seem to be made from scratch like similarly priced restaurants in Lansing.

Capital Prime is one of the better restaurants in the Lansing area. However this time the boneless ribeye was not up to their usual standard, thin and not as tender. Everything else was great the French Onion Soup was very good as were the salad and filet.

My wife and I had our wedding anniversary dinner at capital prime steaks, and seafood. It was a wonderful evening. We were greeted warmly by the host, and our waiter was fantastic. His name was Mark. He and the staff knew about our anniversary and had a glass of champagne for us to celebrate. The food was excellent and timely served. Great hospitality. Definitely a great restaurant for special occasions.

My husband and I recently dined at Capital Prime in Lansing, Michigan, and unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to expectations for a fine dining steakhouse.

I ordered the Cocoa Blue cocktail ($13), which contains Bacardi, blue curaçao, coconut syrup, and lime juice. While it sounded great on paper, the Bacardi overpowered the entire drink, making it difficult to enjoy.

We also tried the Blackened Seafood Pasta ($58), made with Michigan’s Mama Mucci pappardelle tossed in a classic puttanesca sauce with sautéed spinach, topped with two jumbo shrimp, two George’s Day Boat scallops, and three PEI mussels. The entire dish was heavily over-seasoned—to the point where we had to take a drink after nearly every bite. The seasoning overwhelmed the seafood flavors, which was disappointing. The scallops had a mushy texture instead of the tender bite you expect. The shrimp were cooked well but buried under too much seasoning. On a positive note, the mussels were plump and delicious.

My husband ordered the 6 oz. filet mignon, medium. It was undercooked to the point of being jelly-like in texture and lacked flavor. He added the zip sauce, which was recommended to us as zesty, but it tasted more like a store-bought brown gravy. His side of garlic mashed potatoes had good flavor but was too lumpy for our liking. The broccoli and carrots were bland and underwhelming.

We also had two Coke Zeros ($3 each), water, and bread with butter. The bread was warm and soft, but the butter lacked flavor. I ordered a blue cheese wedge salad ($8), which was surprisingly delightful—crisp lettuce, fresh tomatoes, crumbled bacon, crumbled blue cheese, and blue cheese dressing. It was the highlight of my meal.

Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, but once she was seated with a large party, our table didn’t get much attention. Drink refills were missed—I gave my soda to my husband twice because his was empty and we weren’t checked on often enough.

Our total was $140.98, and we tipped over 20%, bringing it to around $170. While there were some high points, the overall food quality and service did not reflect the premium price. Sadly, we both left feeling underwhelmed and don’t plan to return.

The steaks are good, and the service is good. All the details are above average.
Pretty classy joint.

Would have been a five but couldn't get the check, kept coming back and trying to upsell instead of just letting us get out of there

It was another great birthday dinner out on the patio. Mikie was an excellent server and the meals and drins were marvelous.

Celebrated my birthday tonight and it was sadly disappointing
Beautiful interior , great booth seating and our server Tim was excellent …. However
Restaurant was extremely cold inside
3 steaks ordered and none cooked as requested ( 1 had to be returned and by the time it arrived back at the table the other 3 of us had finished our meals) Steaks were not flavorful
Smallest plates I have ever seen in any quality restaurant…. as a result food was essentially piled on top of each other and visually plating was a mess
Manager kindly comped our desserts but this is a steakhouse and it was too late to make amends for the inability to produce steaks as requested
