I went to Carrie's Kitchen one time in Lansing and the reason it didn't last is because you have to get some good cooks in there Soul food comes from the heart not food from a can!!!
I've been looking foward to trying Carrie's Kitchen for a while now and it did not disappoint! I had the pot roast with mac and cheese and yams, while my boyfriend had the junk burger. Both the meals were delicious! We also ordered a chicken wrap but we were so full that it ended up being a great lunch for work the next day. The owner was so friendly and easy to get along with, that he made the atmosphere feel like I was right at home! I highly recommend giving this...
I enjoyed the food. The roast dinner, with white rice, mac & cheese, collard greens, and a chunk of cornbread. Plus an additional side of sweet potatoes. My only complaint was that the collard greens had wayyyy too much salt on them. Compared to the saltiness of the other foods, I assumed that was an honest mistake. So I would definitely try it again. The portions were on point for the price as well. My favorite was the sweet potatoes (and I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes...
