Totally obsessed with this place! The food is crazy good — all freshly made and super flavorful. Huge portions too!
The owners are so sweet and friendly, we had such a nice long chat with them. The restaurant is also really cute — so many pretty little decorations everywhere. You can tell they care about every detail.
Pro tip: call ahead if you can — it’s all cooked fresh, so ordering early helps. 10/10 would go again!

We called ahead since we had 8 people to make sure they had space for us. They were able to fit us and also helped us order ahead and so our food was almost ready when we arrived. Huge family style portions and delicious dishes. Everything was amazing, the one pot dish and stir fried eggplant were table favorites.

Best food I ever had in my whole life. Huge family style platters, beautiful dining room, friendly folks. You really can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. I’ve only been to Lansing once, but I would stop through again just to eat the food here.

This place is amazing. I feel like the 1 star reviews are not fair reviews. Chef Gong is so damn good. Just call ahead and plan. If they can't serve you because they're busy, please dont leave a 1 star review.

First credit has to be given where it’s due, to this hidden gem, the food is very tasty, fresh, great quality, their portions are huge I would recommended you try this place over the $10-$13 price point fried rice restaurants, at least once and then you will realize the difference.

I Was not able to try the food. My group was treated so rude that we walked away. There was no one in the restaurant and now we know why. First time in a long time that I was judged by my skin color.

Chef Gong is a legitimate Northern Chinese chef! Don't come expecting your traditional American Chinese food. This is a very tasty adventure in the real deal.

THE most ridiculous Chinese restaurant across the US. One-hour waiting time after being seated, poor service, mandatory tips, and just average food. On top of that, it sounded like customers were being blamed for not making reservations?? Are you kidding? If you are reservation only, please make that clear on your website and don’t seat people at all! We would have had no problem leaving from the start instead of wasting time. Never again.

For such a delicious and authentic Chinese meal, this just can't be beat. I don't know why they were nearly empty on a Friday night because after one visit, we're already discussing our next trip to Chef Gong and what we might try. The fries pork in scoop was unreal so delectable. Great recommendations from the server, too.
