Holy smokes. The quesabirria tacos were delicious, but the sauce they provided to dunk them (consomé) elevated them to a remarkable level of scrumpulosity. The agua de jamaica was alright, nothing too special, but the food was so worth the visit. I wasn't blown away by the value, but I was full afterwards and spent under $20 including an order of chips. The service was also friendly and prompt.

Best Mexican restaurant in Lansing hands down! Take it from me I grew up in Detroit near the southwest Mexican town and I’m a hard critic ! This place is wonderful , chips and salsa delicious , chimichanga great , the most seasoned and delicious chicken and steak ! I’m impressed im impressed.

My boyfriend and I were driving by and decided to stop and try this place out and IT WAS THE BEST DECISION. The customer service was 10 out of 10. The food is absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food and the atmosphere is just all around amazing. Highly recommend the taco salad with steak. Don't hesitate to come here. It's absolutely AMAZING!!

I am never disappointed with El Catrin! Hands down the best sit-down Mexican restaurant in Lansing, and yes, I’m including all our established local favorites.

Staff is friendly and food always comes out super fast and delicious. The refried beans are actual my made in house - you can tell these aren’t canned beans!

Plus the horchata is homemade too, thick and full of spices and not too sweet.

If you haven’t tried yet, you’ve got to go! It’s become our new go-to takeout.

Very intimate atmosphere. Everytime I've been, there has only been 1 maybe 2 workers cranking out top tier food. The decore is beautiful. The sauces are unique and amazing. The seasoning and freshness of the food is on point!

## El Catrin: Where Tacos Dream and Quesadillas Reign Supreme

Let's be real, folks - sometimes you just crave that perfect taco. That crispy shell, the juicy meat, the tangy cilantro, the creamy avocado. And sometimes, you crave a quesadilla so good it makes you question your life choices (because seriously, how could anything be this delicious?).

Well, my friends, I'm here to tell you that El Catrin is the place for your cravings.

From the moment I walked in, the friendly staff made me feel like I was at home. They were happy to answer all my questions, and their smiles were infectious (seriously, how do they keep those smiles going all day? I need their secrets!).

But the real star of the show? The food. Their tacos are legendary. I tried the carnitas and the al pastor, and both were incredible. The meat was perfectly cooked, the tortillas were soft and fresh, and the toppings were just the right amount of everything.

But let's talk about the quesadilla. Oh. My. Goodness. It's the best I've ever had. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the cheese was melted to gooey perfection. It was crispy on the outside, and the filling was so generous, it was practically exploding with flavor.

I can't emphasize enough how much I loved this place. Everything felt homemade, from the salsas to the tortillas, and the attention to detail was evident in every bite. If you're looking for amazing Mexican food in [Insert City Name], look no further than El Catrin. You won't regret it!

Last night we dined at El Catrin and it was great! We had shrimp tacos and the fried nachos. So good! The service was great, super friendly staff and the atmosphere was really fun. Can’t wait to go back!

I door dashed my order so I can't rate anything other than food. It was a fast order though. I tried this spot because we've been looking for a place that has California burrito. I liked it and it was big enough to share. We weren't expecting guac on it but it was good guac and I did like their California burrito. It came with a side of rice, pretty basic neither good or bad, I'll save that and make something with it later.

I love a classic street taco, so I got a basic chicken taco to see how theirs was and sad to say am not a fan of their standard taco. Dry chicken, under cooked corn tort (still kind of raw/rubbery) , hardly any cilantro, like one leaf and a couple stem bits and over all no flavor! I took one bite and my heart sank. I'll fry it up tomorrow and add some Caliente sauce to Dr it up and salvage it hopefully. I lived down river for a time and am spoiled by the mom n pop taco stands there.

We also tried their quesa birria here and it wasn't terrible but the flavor didn't hit for us. There are other places that we like better for both birria and reg tacos.

All in all it wasn't a terrible meal, but will likely only go back for California burrito when the craving strikes.

They were really good when they first opened but have gone down hill. My last 3 orders were not up to par but I wanted to keep giving them a chance. I always have to ask for the guac and fountain drink that is advertised with the meal. Old/dry meat and rice. 2 tiny lime pieces for 3 tacos. Not worth the price.

Normally my experience has been good here, unfortunately today was not that day when I ordered two meals and two Elotes for takeout, the elotes were missing from the bag and I called when I got home to get a refund on those two items. The cashier stuck to their guns and claimed they had bagged the items, and would not budge. I am a repeat customer and I hate losing my temper, unfortunately El Catrin has gone down the dump in service and I will not be returning. It's a shame with how good the food is.
