Turned us away because my 5 year old couldn’t eat Mexican food, so we brought a simple lunch for him. Refused 4 adults that would’ve ordered meals and drinks. Really sad because I heard it was good food

Went to Maria’s with my family and my 5-yr old nephew will ONLY eat Taco Bell Mexican, so we brought that with us while the rest of our group was going to order food, and were told we could not bring outside food or drink. Understandable if the entire party was doing so, but this was for a child. We left and went to Pablo’s where we had no issues and the food there was amazing! Will not be back to Maria’s.

I arrived well before their posted closing time, but it was quiet and the told me their dining room was closing. So I ordered takeout. I was a little disappointed not to be able to eat in even thought the service area is unassuming/not particularly attractive. Nonetheless the service was very friendly. I ordered takeout and the food was delicious. The flavors were very fresh, the portions were generous, and prices fair. And everything tasted homemade, even the refined beans. This is the best Mexican food I have had in the Lansing area and I look forward to returning.

Our first time here. Will definitely be back. Everything was excellent. Really can't say more. This place is now in our rotation of restaurants to frequent. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

We went for the first time today and got guac for our chips, the birria tacos and steak chimichanga, both with rice and beans. Everything was delicious. New favorite Mexican food in Lansing. Will be back soon!

We had our wedding catered by Maria’s and I have very mixed feelings about how it went. Food was amazing and there is no arguing that, however I think they did a very poor job of planning and making sure that there was enough food. We provided an accurate number of guests and they told us we would have “plenty of food” and “more than likely will need to have a place for left overs”. I had two small tacos and planned on making a second trip to grab more food after our guests had eaten. When I walked back up to grab more, there was absolutely no food left and I was extremely disappointed.
I’m not recommending avoiding their business completely, but if you choose to cater through Maria’s, I would strongly recommend telling them you have 20% more people coming than you actually do. It really sucks to be hungry and out of food on a day as exhausting as your wedding day. Although the food I ate tasted great, I will unfortunately not be a returning customer due to my experience.
