I got the house fried rice to go which is their equivalent of young chow fried rice. It was dry and I felt it could have used a few more peas and shrimp etc. The staff were very kind. I'd also say the atmosphere could be more inviting as all the tables had chairs flipped up as though closed for the night but it was not even 2pm yet... overall it is an average place but not exceptional.

The chicken as like eating jerky. It was very dry like it was fried yesterday and warmed up. Way too much sauce to where it made everything soggy. The rice was good

I ordered the chicken pad Thai and steamed dumplings. The portions were huge, however neither item had ANY flavor. I did not eat either. Very disappointing.

Fortune house just opened for the day when we arrived, no other guests were there yet, so I had a chance to ask alot of questions about Chinese food. The lady who helped me with my order was very knowledgeable. The way she explained the food, it started to really make me hungry. The quality of the ingredients and all the time-consuming preparation and care that goes into getting all the details right was alot. Our group went inside to order take-out, after the order was taken 12 minutes went by and here came a mountain of food, it was a little shocking to be honest how much food we were brought for 37 dollars. It tasted incredible, a really nice flavorful meal. Best Chinese i had been served in a long time. The Fortune House was a pleasant surprise. The environment was quiet and clean. Small dining area, order your food at the register style,short wait, and delicious food, a happy time was my experience.

These guys were amazing this morning. I called about a week ago asking if they were willing to do a catering job for 40 people. Kicker was I needed to pick it up the order by 5:15 am and they agreed. I picked it up this morning and wow was it great food!

Holy crap! I usually order a takeout combination plate from a nearby Chinese restaurant and am used to them, but I decided to try somewhere new and am not disappointed! We ordered chicken lo mein and a beef and broccoli (added mushrooms) combination plate. When I opened the containers of food, I was so amazed! The portion sizes were huge compared to the other place, I couldn't stop commenting on it haha. The food was hot and delicious and they have better egg rolls too. I will definitely order from Fortune House from now on!

We've been here half a dozen times for the egg foo young which is decent. The spring rolls, egg rolls and pot stickers are fine. Literally every other dish we've tried has been terrible. The Mongolian chicken was 90% onion and the lo mein was so bland and thick it was inedible. I really don't understand how the ratings are so high when most dishes are over-sauced, underflavored and in many cases overdone.

This is one of our two favorite spots for Chinese in the Lansing area. This is where we go for carry-out. We always get the chicken with string beans, lunch special. The fried rice is great, and so are the egg rolls. Also, they have amazing egg frop soup. I have been coming here for this particular meal for years! Great prices, good portions, and the owner is always happy to see us. Highly recommend for carry-out.
I’ve been going to Fortune House for approximately 30 years (at their current location and their previous on West Saginaw). The food is always delicious and fresh and the owners are the sweetest, kind people.

First time visiting Lansing and Fortune House.Order Chicken and broccoli and added an egg roll and shrimp fried rice which was $4.99 more. My sister ordered Almond Chicken and $4.99 for chicken fried rice. The grease was old that the fried rice was cooked in. The almond chicken was fried hard with old grease. Broccoli and chicken has no flavor.We will not be returning.
